Johnny Mims, a band director at Minor High School in Alabama, is accusing Birmingham police of using excessive force against him after he was shocked with a stun gun three times after officers say he refused to comply with orders while they attempted to clear the field...
The incident occurred at P.D. Jackson-Olin High School in Birmingham during "fifth quarter" – a tradition that originates at Historically Black Colleges and Universities where school bands face off, taking turns to play music after a football game comes to an end.
"It is a big cultural thing that happens amongst bands....
...Body camera footage released by BPD shows officers attempting to clear the stadium following the game and as they approach Mims and ask him to tell the band to stop the music, he repeatedly says, "Get out of my face."
"Cut it! We got to go," a sergeant says.

“If you plan to confront the State, have a worthy cause, not just an attitude.”
By state you mean the fascists who think they own us and that we are just chattel? The Constitutional bill of rights is not a worthy cause? Limited authority is not a worthy cause? They do not own us, we the people own them and they serve us.
They have forgotten this FACT and twisted their authority to mean completely unfettered authority without any question.
“Bonhoeffer was eventually hung for conspiracy to commit murder.”
Because he fought against the Nazi fascists. Are you saying he was wrong for fighting fascism? Or is that a warning against speaking out against our current equally fascist state? Stay in my place on my knees and submit to and obey my task masters without question?
It was nice growing up before after-game drive-bys were a thing.
“Most of my family were in Drum & Bugle Corps (DCA and DCI) and I’ve been to many shows. It’s long been a tradition that after the end of the show to perform mini concerts/encores in the parking lot before packing up and boarding their buses.”
Yep, and they are harmless. Simple school pride.
Additionally, since almost everyone in the melee was of an 'oppressed' class, it furthers the cause of the Socialists undermining our society.
Pick the hill you wish to die on carefully!

You mean the bill of rights does not apply to blacks and they deserve what they get from authority? My defense of constitutional rights has absolutely nothing to do with race at all. Remember that sentiment when they in turn decide that whites have no constitutional rights and deserve what they get.
It is a two way street and we better be careful what we ask for... Because we may just get it, and we are not going to like it.
After football games in small towns, parents have to close down the field and do basic things. Having the opposing team band leave keeps 20-30 volunteers (in a small town) from getting home. So in effect after the game and a reasonable amount of time, the band was trespassing. In some areas there are 2-4 battles on Friday night HS football games. The obvious 2 teams playing is one, sometimes the bands, sometimes the cheerleaders and sometimes a combination of the above + fans. This sounds like the football team lost and the band wanted to “win”. Yet some small town (white schools) don’t care about the band war. This sounds like the visiting team band just plain WAY overstayed the polite then the rude welcome. Then the visiting band director figured everyone would just put up with it since you know BLM .

No... I am being absolutely serious as a constitutionalist. There should never be any compromising the constitution for any reason ever. It is not “selective”. Compromising of the constitution is WHY our country is the way it is now.
Period.
I concur. While I don’t know the history here, I do know the ego of some cops today are way out of control. I don’t understand the reason for the order to cease here and don’t know if it was lawful.
And using a taser in this situation is not what tasers are meant for.
I used to have a lot more respect for law enforcement (my dad was a cop) but those days are gone. The phrase “Back the blue until it happens to you” makes so much more sense to me lately.
I have always said I am ProBlue. That’s becoming more difficult to do.
Once a woman gives you an order, it’s game on. The director dissed her.
Was there a criminal law being broken? Besides the cops assaulting the band-leader.
Oathbreakers.
😄😀😀🤣
