They had to be shamed into filing that. And in reality, it wasn’t so much shame as it was that they thought if they brought those charges then they could claim to be unbiased. They thought wrong.

Then again, this is no longer the Justice Department, but the Just Us, Inc.

I think you meant “the absolute least the DOJ can do that is relatively unconnected to his father and can allow both Hunter and the DOJ to refuse Congressional subpoenas because of the ongoing prosecution”. They couldn’t charge the tax evasion, money laundering and failure to file the foreign agent paperwork because all point back to Joe.
