Now explain to us all how someone who signs a bill consenting to the murder of a child up to six weeks is pro-life. Should that person take bows for restricting it to six weeks over a person who wants to restrict it for five months, etc.
Trump got Roe v Wade overturned because he got like he promised, an accomplishment much greater than your god DeSantis accomplished by merely signing legislation passed by a Repubican legislature.
Abortion should be turned over to the states since the president now doesn’t really have a part anymore, unless a bill is passed by Congress concerning abortion, and that will not happen.
Trump takes the same position on abortion that Reagan did — life of the mother, incest, rape. Most of those are actually rare occurrences.
We do have to win elections, and we have to deal with people who don’t believe like we do if we are to save the nation. We at this time will not be able to stop all abortions, but we can go down to defeat if we use our faith to draw a hard line that other people don’t have the faith for.

The question is why? Why did Trump have to open his fat mouth and step into the minefield in the first place? As you said "the president now doesn’t really have a part anymore", so why did Trump go there?
I'll tell you why. Because DeSantis still lives rent free in Trump's head. Anything good that DeSantis has done has to be opposed by Trump.
This strong pro-life policy is but one example. And why did Trump side with Disney and their pro groomer policies? Because DeSantis made many brownie points by winning the culture war against Disney.
