Governors eclipsed by Trump in GOP race, hobbled by voters’ anti-establishment fervor (poor McRomBushes not getting any traction)
Washington Times ^ | 9/18/23 | Seth McLaughlin

Time was when voters liked having a governor take the reins in the White House.

But the half dozen or so current or former governors trying to gain traction in the GOP presidential race are finding out that kind of executive experience just isn’t a big attraction anymore.

“Many — and in some states a majority — Republican primary voters since 2016 wanted an outsider,” said George Allen, a former congressman, senator and governor in Virginia. “The polling about the will of Republican primary voters indicated that: Experience as a governor, senator or almost anywhere in any government service was a negative and characterized as a part of the problem.”

Governor Doug McRomBush, former governor Mike McRomBush, former governor Chris McRomBush, former governor Tim McRomBush.

All the same.

And of course we remember in the last race we had governor John McRomBush (Kasich) and former governor George McRomBush (Pataki) and a REAL Bush (Jeb!).

And we have anti-Trump governors Sununu, Ducey and Kemp all pulling for Governor DeSantis.

The RGA (Republican Governor's Association) has gone all out, because they think of themselves as the bees' knees, when they're all a bunch of Establishment schills.

Anti-establishment? No, just facing reality. They have taken us to where we currently are. Insanity is to keep trying the same thing and expecting a different result this time around.

That insanity as led us to the promised land of reality, where insanity is tossed aside.

Bye, bye, and the best of luck to you, you crooks.

electing someone who has been a 40 year politician is just not that exciting.

The last 40 years is when the country started to decline

And now those same people say they can ‘fix it’?

Why didn’t they fix it already, then..???

And several, including GA’s Kemp, are most-favored heros of the GROPElite in Washington.

“ Experience as a governor, senator or almost anywhere in any government service was a negative and characterized as a part of the problem.”

That’s because it is part of the problem. It’s a huge part of the problem.

State political systems are the farm teams for the big show in DC. They are not to be trusted.

Excellent point.

There have only been two presidents in my lifetime that talked the talk and walked the walk: Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.

Reagan was an experienced politician who was abke to shelve his ego, surround himself with trusted and capable cabinet and staff. he went against the grain and “they” tried to kill him for it.

Trump IS an inexperienced yet egotistical blowhard, but his heart is in the right place. The combination of inexperience and unchecked ego resulted in him hiring and retaining unreliable and untrustworthy staff / counsel that undermined him every step of the way. I believe he figure this out along the way and would have corrected things and cleaned house in a second term which the Deep State could not, and cannot allow to happen, so they cheated in the last election and now are trying to keep him from running again because they know it will require at least 140 million fabricated votes to beat him this time.

We The People are long overdue to have "None of the Above" on every ballot in the country.

Choosing between two Uniparty candidates is not an election.

Do you notice how the phrasing so carefully avoids mention of Swamp? Or Deep State?

These people are still delusional. They imagine some sort of random swing of attitude by the little people while they, the elite, defined as such by their political ruling experience, wait for this silly episode to pass. Then they will again return to their rightful position above the lesser mortals.

Not surprising. It sould be hard for anyone to look in the mirror and realize you are someone deserving of contempt.

Donald Trump is putting all on the line for all of us: his fortune, honor and personal freedom. He is in George Washington territory. If the RINOS don't start getting behind Trump then the Trump Train needs to run their a$$ses over!! Neo-Tory GOPers need to buck up.

I think it’s more ‘projection’... Trump believes other people are as honest as him, and love their country as much.

He is not a power seeker for the benefit of Power- he truly believes in saving this country. So he believes others want the same thing.

That’s called ‘projection’ and it is not a bad thing.

Now, he knows better.

How about one that doesn’t call a rival “Desanctimonious”? Is that asking too much?

I have stated for years that the best President for ANY country is a person who has been VERY successful in business.

I don't agree with everything DJT says.I don't agree with everything he does. But I do agree 90% of the things he said as President. And I agree with 98% of the things he *did* as President.

The only American alive today who would be a *perfect* President is me.

I live in Massachusetts. In terms of the Electoral Vote tally my vote means nothing.Rat Party Headquarters doesn't need to cheat here...the Rat Party nominee always carries the state easily.

Given how deeply depraved this state is there's a very real possibility that DJT won't be on the ballot here next year. But if that's true I'll surely write in his name.

“Is that asking too much?”

Yep. You either get a candidate who wants to do what is right but is rough around the edges, or you can get a smooth, polished turd who won’t lift a finger to do what is right.

Now pick.

Same old same old no longer applies.
