Officials in Rockland County, New York took legal action Monday to shut down a so-called “migrant flophouse” where 31 asylum seekers were crammed into a suburban one-family home.
The migrants — hailing from Ecuador and Guatemala — were discovered following a surprise inspection at the house located at 295 New Hempstead Road in the tiny hamlet of New City in Clarkstown.
“In essence, it was a migrant flophouse,” said Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann.
“We knew something was amiss. What we saw was so bad. This was by far the worst flophouse we’ve seen.”
Hoehman fumed that the migrant crisis had spun out of control and the number of migrants living in the home was “unacceptable.”

Jokes on them, mexicans and central americans like living like that.
Not sure how they voted but Rockland county is full of retired and active NYC cops and fireman. I lived next to an Equadorian flophouse and a hung around with a lot of guys living in an Irish flophouse.
Just like Home ?
If they keep calling the illegal invaders “migrants” the battle is already lost.
If they call them “illegal invaders” then they know what has to be done next.
Get the address so we know where to send the the absentee ballots to.
It’s still better than the hellhole they came from. Plus they get freebies, compliments of you and me. What’s not to like?
wondering if the migrants claimed squatter status they’d be left alone?
They have no clue , creating a new Hellhole in a new place ,yep clueless
So we are disregarding local zoning laws now as well to accommodate these illegals.
“The town is taking the property owner, Shloima Koppel of Monsey, to court, Hoehmann said”.

Born and raised in Rockland County, I am very familiar with with this particular group of people, which I have stated in this forum before, over the last 25 years.
They are not not good neighbors and the law is something for other people. You bet this is not a one-off flophouse - or “stash house” as they’re now called. They are making bank off of these people either as illegal laborers, sex workers, drug mules, or slaves. I KNOW they have been involved in prostitutes and drugs in areas of NY.
I hope the law cracks these scumbags over the head but it never seems to matter.
The taxes on this property - that sold in Nov ‘22 for $470,000 - are a mere $2818 and the property is assessed at $111,100. These are ridiculous figures for that that area of Rockland. Could be legit but it’s awfully fishy.
They are known to deliver shopping bags of cash to any politician or government employee that will play along with whatever they want. Cuomo comes to mind. They get away with murder and their numbers are growing and spreading.
Sure, here’s the obligatory “Oh it’s not ALL of them”. And it’s not all of them, but the nice ones don’t reign in the bad ones, either. It’s a horrific society to live in.
I missed the part about how many illegals in one home was acceptable.
Well they are small so there’s that.
Exactly. And while it feels good to send them to all these liberal hell-holes, they are conquering territory.
We approved the article almost unanimously (yes there were some Lib jackholes who called it Fascist) and the Housing Authoriy got to work making inspections and cleaning up the problem. The police actually arrested some and sent them to ICE for deportation. A futile gesture, yes...but they DID something.
I'm so glad I moved outta that shite hole.
This has been going on for decades here in the Southwest. I used to live next door to a migrant house. 2 bed place with between 16-20 men living in it. They were all field workers. I spent time drinking beers with them after work on quite a few occasions.
The answer is simple. The city should purchase six comparable homes and put 5-6 illegals in each one.
Repeat as often as necessary.
One of the best things our Northern Virginia lib town council did was decide to enforce zoning laws to rid our suburban neighborhoods of dorm houses.
I don’t think they did it to clean up the yards or reduce crime, but to protect their own property values, but it was a popular move anyway.
Well, for one; have you ever seen a Guatemalan shoveling snow?
Yep always a warm bed
