Publicly available data released by Kyiv's military indicates that more than 270,000 Russian troops have been "liquidated" so far in the conflict...
And those are just the ones that Ukraine could account for, with the Russians taking another 300,000 dead back home in body bags or in pieces. ;)

Imagine that. In an "officially" non-NATO war between two non-NATO nations, war inflicts casualties. Who would have thought? War; casualties. Casualties; war.
In other news, an F-35 (costing $156 million) has crashed somewhere after a training "mishap" in South Carolina. Mishap.
War. Preparing for war. Funding war. Hurrah, war, especially when three drunks blow themselves up. But then....
Then there's this: 'U.S. Active Duty Military Deaths by Year and Manner -- 1980 - 2022 (As of August 2023)" 265 by accident out of 844 for last year.

Seems sh*t happens. A lot more than one might think....

[ Official Russian numbers. ]
Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in the morning report to Russian President Vladimir Putin, irretrievable military operational losses of personnel of the Russian Armed Forces - 277,312 people.
Data as of 6:00 Moscow time today.
This figure does not take into account data on the losses of Russian PMCs taking part in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine; Tuesday, August 1, this is 76,192 dead.
Most Russian PMCs came under the control of the Russian Ministry of Defense and their losses are now an integral part of the total losses; since August 1, separate calculations have not been carried out.

Seems sh*t happens. A lot more than one might think....Yes, it does.
My first career field (by choice) in the USAF was Air Cargo Specialist.
We had more deaths from "industrial accidents" than we ever did from enemy action.
There are many ways to be squashed when around heavy equipment moving big stuff into and out of big things.
Those of us who grew up around logging and farming equipment knew instinctively when and where to be and jump away from.
The city kids didn't.
