Some hospitals and hospital systems across the country are reinstating mask policies well over three years after the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
Major mask mandates that dominated the country for months on end — including the controversial mask mandate for air travel, which the courts struck down — have come and gone. However, some entities, including schools and some workplaces, have brought them back, at least on a short-term basis, citing rising cases of the coronavirus.

Patients and visitors: Take detailed notes of every time an employee of one of these health systems violates their own infection control protocols with regard to muzzles.
Make that info public.
Also, start inquiring about nosocomial infection rates at your local hospitals.
Since muzzles are fomites, and CoupFlu is far from the only bug out there, bet that info would be enlightening, too.
Note to health systems: If what you’re really worried about is TB, you might as well say so. You’ll be far better off.

Sitting in a Denver hospital as I write this. There are fewer masks here than at Sam’s Club.

The hospital where I worked required masks on the floors where there were influenza patients back 5-10 years ago. It was all based on percentages.
The large hospital in the next city just went back to masks because COVID exceeds their mid level rate. My wife’s hospital has not, because the infection rate is not at that level.
The hospitals don’t “want” to do this. It impedes visitation and if the infections get too high it stalls elective procedures.
In MA, the Department of Health makes the rules…not the individual hospitals.
Little sister was a CNA at a ER masks are used as a sneeze guard for preventing folks from spewing over everything & everyone.
And since it looks like the mandates are largely for employees, this is either a great way to weed out independent thinkers, or is concerning TB...
Maybe both.
