No words. The most dramatic display Ive yet seen of the force of what had to be a huge wall of water.
Runoff from those hills in the background had to go somewhere.
wow ... just wow ...
where did the water come from?
Looks like a 60 ft wave just tore through ...
Idiots were warned for days and ignored it, did not warn the population or attempt to evacuate them, which they EASILY could have done.
It looks like it was a fairly prosperous city with all those cars.
The older buildings were probably non reinforced concrete or adobe. The newer buildings came through it okay. I remember as a child in Istanbul in the 50s whenever there was a tremor, something that would make someone miss a step, apartment buildings would collapse. Daddy said it was because there was no steel in the concrete.
Didn’t a couple of dams also breach?
Like many countries over there...
I wish that were Washington DC or Philadelphia or Baltimore or Atlanta or Detroit or Chicago or Memphis, etc.
But the day is young. /spit
Coming to a city near you... seeing this I would have thought this picture was the aftermath of someone that bulldozed a homeless camp in San Fran or some other cesspool city

Melting ice caps in Antartica?
This is what happens when you let goats eat the countryside down to exposed dirt.

Melting ice caps in Antartica?
OR the "Rising Tide of Racism in America"! (trademark pending)
Flash flood in the desert?
Naw, can’t happen. Unprecedented. /s
Must be ‘climate change’. /s/s
Wow!
Massive destruction almost as bad as in the dozens of villages, towns, cities, and once fertile farms destroyed by the artillery of the invading Russian army in Ukraine!
Derna is on the Mediterranean coast, about halfway between Benghazi and the Egyptian border, roughly due south of Sparta, Greece.
I think I heard that 2 dams failed.
