Norwegian chief of defense claims Putin 'knows very well' NATO is not a threat to Russia
Norway said Russian forces have pulled back from its border in the Arctic, claiming the number of soldiers Moscow has there now is "20% or less" compared to the start of the Ukraine war

“He knows and everybody knows that having NATO on your border is the best guarantee you will never be invaded from that side.”
Given that NATO has pretty much dumped all of its ground weapons into Ukraine, you’re probably right - NATO’s now a paper tiger with nukes.
Ok. Not falling for this swindle and if you did you are stupid.
The globohomos were not planning on breaking up Russia by invading through Norway. The well disclosed plan that Nuland and co were engaged in was to use Ukraine to isolate Russia, cut it off, break it up and take over the assets. You can’t isolate Russia through Norway.

I have posted on FR many times that I consider Putin to be a war criminal. I stand by that opinion.
I have also posted that NATO is no threat to Russia, as NATO is purely a defensive organization. Another Freeper then pointed out that NATO went on the offensive in Libya and in Serbia. I was wrong.
So Putin does have reason to see NATO as a threat.
Well if he sees it as a threat then why did he cut his border forces facing NATO down to 20% of their previous strength?
For the same reason that he is indifferent to Finland and Sweden joining NATO, it doesn’t threaten Russia.
My guess is that he needs those troops in Ukraine.
Here’s where it might get interesting. As the war drags on, Ukraine will get weaker. But so will Russia. Now, China really wants Siberia. Will Russia become so weak that at some point China decides to “liberate” that region?
China’s dream:
Every single member of NATO has invaded Russia at one time or another. Including Greece. Including Italy. Including the United States.
Does anyone here think the Russian troops near Norway just might be needed in Ukraine?
Sure, that's what we did in WW2, when we started to win, we stopped sending anymore weapons. Idiocy
On September 17, 1939, Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov declares that the Polish government has ceased to exist, as the U.S.S.R. exercises the “fine print” of the Hitler-Stalin Non-aggression pact—the invasion and occupation of eastern Poland.
the front needs them more than the Norwegian border does...
yeah. Gonna happen. Sure.
Why not, now that the frontier is undefended? If I remember my history at one point Norway had some claim on that region, maybe they want to re-exert it. China for sure is sharpening its talons to claw back some of its historic territory on the east side.
Not the same sorry
Earlier in the war, Russia sent many of its trainers to fight in Ukraine. This resulted in wrecking Russia's training command without producing decisive results. After that, due to a lack of trainers and material, many new Russian troops have been sent to fight without training or adequate uniforms, gear, or weapons.
In a modern NATO country, those kinds of costly and brutal expedients would generate much political grief and would not be undertaken unless the circumstances were dire. In Russia though, brutal and costly has a low threshold and there is a high tolerance by the population for casualties, economic privation, and military defeat.
China’s dream
Indeed not much land they don’t have a grip on now Africa is a jack pot too.
