Poll: Donald Trump Boasts Biggest Double-Digit Yet Lead over Ron DeSantis

Former President Donald Trump has increased his massive lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the Republican primary race, a Quinnipiac survey released this week found.

The survey asked respondents, “If the Republican primary for president were being held today, and the candidates were: Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, Asa Hutchinson, Chris Christie, Vivek Ramaswamy, Larry Elder, Doug Burgum, and Will Hurd for whom would you vote?”

Overall, 62 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaners said they would vote for Trump — putting him a full 50 points ahead of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who garnered 12 percent support.

Trump’s 62 percent reflects a five-point increase since August, and DeSantis’s 12 percent reflects a six-point decrease over the same period of time.

Anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy came in third place with six percent support, followed by both former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence, whom five percent chose. That reflects a one-point increase for Pence and a two-point jump for Haley since August.

South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott followed with three percent support, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson came in with two percent and one percent, respectively.

Poll is junk but I enjoy the Desanctimonius slide so I’ll run with it. 728 respondents of all registered voters. Assuming Trump has a really good GOTV this could look even better for him. How long would you stand in line to vote for Niki Haley or Desanctimonius?

DeSantis in his private moments must be an anguished man. One year ago if he had used a bit of discretion and tolerated some of Trump’s eccentrics, he would have been VP in 2024 and possibly President in 2028. Instead he foolisly took the advice of Karl Rove and the Bush family. His career now lies in ruins. The Bush family, the Democrats and globalists everywhere are very happy. What would have been a juggernaut Republican ticket bringing Trump back to power will now never happen.

The easiest accomplishment in national politics is for a President to be elected for a second term.

Trump failed — utterly — to do that.

He was a one-term president.

If we Republicans nominate him again he will set a record as a general election failure.

If he respected the Republican Party he’d support someone else for the nomination.

But he’s always been a selfish egotist so my prediction is this: he will win the nomination and lose — by a wide margin — the general.

He’s the worst thing that ever happened to the Republican Party.
