I seem to recall a movie made back in the 1960s called “A Guide for the Married Man” and there is a scene in which the main character (played by Walter Matthau) is caught cheating by his wife. He repeatedly denies it to the point that that wife actually begins to think that she may have been seeing things. I wonder if this is the same sort of tactic being used in this instance concerning Hunter and his criminal dealings.
