Steve Cortes, the ” national spokesman” for the pro-DeSantis SuperPAC Never Back Down, has admitted a presidential rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden “seems inevitable,” during an appearance on the Chicago’s Morning Answer. While laying out the case for Florida Governor DeSantis, Cortes claims voters do not want to see a rematch of 2020, though let slip that Trump’s primary victory appears all-but-certain.
“You mentioned earlier about dissatisfaction with a Trump-Biden rematch. On most polling, roughly two-thirds of Americans… do not want that rematch. It is a rematch that nobody wants yet it seems at this moment to be inevitable,” Cortes told the radio hosts before going on to pitch DeSantis an alternative. The show hosts were quick to point out that much of the Republican establishment appears to have moved on from DeSantis, with many even favoring the candidacy of former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
“DeSantis is now not a clear-and-away second place candidate. He’s fighting for second place. And then whoever’s there, if they can establish some separation, then they’ve got 20, 30, 40 points to go to get to Trump.”
Cortes conceded the situation is “a tough one for Ron DeSantis.”
LISTEN:
Lets wait to the primaries to find out how about that
Boy, the DeSaster folks are on the case! Nothing gets by them.
Hope springs eternal!
Yes, Trump will likely secure the nom.
Trump will go no farther than the nom, and around the country the up and down ballots will all go blue, our fine Country will shift off the left cliff, and Trump will blame everyone (and insult everyone) but himself.
But yes, Mister Trump will get the nom.
Ping! Lets bring Reno89519 into this thread!
Pocketbook issues will overwhelm hush payments to porn stars in 2024. We have 15 more months of hurt to add to people’s pocketbooks. I base that on 63 years in political junkiedom.
Only way democrats hold white house in 2024 is if senator Graham proposes another bill restricting all abortions after 15 months as he did before 2022 midterms to crash the red wave.
You realize that the quote that you are using, is not from Cortez? It’s the two hosts. Nice try though.
When is No Demo Reno here going to finally come to the same conclusion?
There isn't a President or politician in my lifetime that has done more for conservatives and to keep his promises than Trump. You're attacks on him are laughable.
So many of our electorate are low info/no info voters or get their monthly money from welfare or who think they owe their income to unions or govt.
College students see nothing wrong with free money, and will vote for it.
Thanks!
What would either a Trump or DeSantis thread be without Reno!
It’d be boring!
The true disaster folks are the ones who are going to get Trump nominated where he'll suffer certain defeat in the general election, lose the house, and fail to retake the senate.
And everyone here will be wishing we had more governors like DeSantis and more free states like Florida.
The election will not be about issues as much as about Trump.
Trump made choices to insult folks who could be allies, and aside from a 100% energetic core of Trump followers, there aren't enough votes to carry Mister Trump in the general election.
I'll vote for whomever wins the GOP nom, even if it's Trump. That said, every time Trump insults DeSantis, he insults the DeSantis base, many whose feelings of offense will keep them home on election day.
Trump is predictable. When he gets the nom, he'll say something like..."Ron DeSantis is really a great guy and I was only kidding in my names about him". Predictable, will not sway a single (desperately needed) vote.
When Trump loses the general, I do hope folks will realize that it's all on Trump.
What a @#$^ liar!
People can't believe anything reno post, at this point...
“You mentioned earlier about dissatisfaction with a Trump-Biden rematch. On most polling, roughly two-thirds of Americans… do not want that rematch. It is a rematch that nobody wants yet it seems at this moment to be inevitable,”
is said by cortes on the audio....
So who are you to believe?
Your lying ears.....
or the honest, high road taking, moral, straight talking, Reno89519, who never tells anything that isn't true...*
* that's sarcasm, if people couldn't tell...
“Steve Cortes...has admitted a presidential rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden “seems inevitable,””
Not necessarily. the Dems are now making the needed moves to drive Biden out for 2024, if not sooner.
Hopefully, everyone here is learning the overarching importance of local elections for the statehouse.
No one would have even heard of the Governor of Florida except for the Republican super majority in Tallahassee.
Let’s hope he figures out why that is.
