Okay, I'm sure that will stir things up, but it is a real point to consider. How many non-politically engaged voters will vote for Trump if he is convicted?

And, yes, he is being persecuted, most of the charges are political, and all that. We've been discussing that in many threads on FR, but what about the non-engaged voters who, even if Republican, get their news from places other than FR, Breitbart, etc.?

Don't shoot the messenger, this is a serious topic and question.

Don’t care. Votin’ Trump. By the way, globalist RINO, what are you doing to stop lawfare? Speak up! Louder please RDS.

Ron really stumbled here by legitimizing these political indictments, even if only implicitly. All he needed to do was use this cycle to improve his national name recognition, get more experience on the stump and be a viable plan B if Trumps health failed, or to be the nominee next time around.

This will boomerang on him, bigly, and it’s going to be almost impossible for him to repair his standing with the populist wing of the base.

Most unfortunate.

If it matters at all, it will only matter in the primaries. A convicted Trump will be a martyr and if he wins the nomination, that will make a big difference in the general from other elections where less was at stake.

Use your brain. Every time Trump was indicted by banana Republic democrat prosecutor, his poll numbers jumped up. If he is put in prison, it will be landslide of 1984 proportions. People are wise to what Biden & his henchmen are doing.

And if Ron DeSantis keeps this up, he won’t be able to be elected dog catcher in Florida in any future election.

If the establishment uniparty can take down Trump with phony indictments and convictions, then they can do it to anybody that they don't like.

Ron DeSantis doesn't understand that, not even an inkling.

Trump will lose if convicted, even if convicted unjustly. The middle isn’t joining the “frog meme still voting Trump” crowd.

This is a very undignified approach for Desantis. The polls should answer the question—Trump will win.

I only worry about one vote.

It’s going to Trump - free, convicted, or jailed.

It is never going to DeSanctis.

He’s been on the government dole too long.

People are going to vote for Trump even if he is convicted of something....

So, the next time Reno89519 post as similar question, reno’s likely going to be asking

“Who will people vote for when Trump is dead”....

Of course reno won’t say how, or by who.....

But it can be inferred that it’s the choice desantis and the uniparty wants at this point, because Trump’s nomination is currently a certainty....

This could happen IF gasoline drops to 2.00, inflation below 3% and covid regulations end.

Yawn...

Electability is the same old tired BS the establishment/elite/globalists trot out anytime the pleebs aren’t following their script...

Here is the simple TRUTH.

If Trump cannot win, NO OTHER REPUBLICAN CAN WIN, PERIOD.

Trump is the only president elected in a 2 way race that grew his support by more than 17 points while in office!

Understand this, no other president at least since 1900 (probably since the founding) can make this claim.

Not Obama, Not Clinton, Not NIXON, Not REAGAN, not FDR... NO ONE...

But somehow one of these side show also rans would win, and Trump wouldn’t? It’s a full on joke.

There is ZERO support for these nitwits, NONE... other than corporate and hedge fund/establishment donors.. None of them have grass roots support, and none of them will get it.

Trump’s support is far larger than the GOP base.. there is an overlap, but no other candidate is going to get the turnout or support that Trump has.... NONE. Why? Simple... just go look at the tucker interviews of these clowns from about a month ago now.... He shredded them all with very simple, almost softball questions that matter to the public, but are not a priority to these nitwits because they only care about what their big money donors want, which has NOTHING to do with whats good for you or this country.

They will bankrupt this country to win some proxy war with Russia, and have no qualms about doing so. You think they won’t send your sons and daughters over there to die if push comes to shove, you are a fool.

These people, all of them, have not a prayer of getting the support and turnout that Trump has, but they can win? It’s laughable.

Tired old playbook of electability, already cost the PA senate race last year.

You think the disenfranchised are going to show up to pull the lever for just another corporate shill in a suit? You are deluding yourselves.

If the GOP was romotely in touch with their base, and cared about the Country... Donald Trump would have NEVER gotten the nomination in 2016, he would have been an also ran that flushed out early.... He was the nominee because he spoke about championed things that the people wanted and cared about... things every other GOP candidate wouldn’t dare touch or say a bad word about because they knew they would be cut off by their corporate donors instantly.

Free Trade, illegal immigrants, NAFTA, etc etc etc.. Any GOP candidate worth his salt should have been recognized those items and run against them.. but they couldn’t even if they did recognize the damage they were doing because the people that fund them wanted it.

Just look at that crapfest “debate”... nothing has changed in the GOP establishment, they just keep pretending they can go back to the way things were... and their base isn’t going to have it any longer.

They put up some establishment corporate backed shill, which is pretty much the rest of the field.. with the exception of an abject fraud from head to toe named Ramaswamy, and he’s a shill too, just a different kind... and GOP will be lucky to get 62 Million votes come November 2024

What an assine thing for this man to say. Reeks of desperation.

What a disgraceful fraud he is becoming.

He should have known better. It's time for him to go home and pretend to be a good governor again. Maybe us Floridians will forgive him. Because if he continues this charade, he's never going to hold office again.

I’m going to CHARITABLY assume for now that this is a hit piece on DeSantis.

Because otherwise I’d have to call him a backstabbing SOB with no moral center.

It's a good question.

I don't see how DeSantis could win in 2024 under any circumstances -- even if Trump were to drop out and DeSantis locked up the GOP nomination early in the primaries.

There are too many voters out there who would write in Trump just to piss off the political establishment.
