This “lie” is true, but it’s not the only reason for the indictments (and the impeachments and the breathtaking level of hatred); the other, equally important reason is to dissuade any non-politician from ever running for President ... the punishment for doing so is just too severe.

I think the Democrats want Trump to be the nominee so that he will be the #1 news story in 2024 rather than Biden's failings, and they think they can beat him with all of his legal problems but are afraid someone who holds similar views to Trump's but without his baggage (7 years of non-stop negative publicity) could beat Biden easily.

There was a poll recently showing that a large part of the population thinks that Trump is corrupt. There has not been one bit of genuine evidence to support that but the media keeps bashing him so a lot of people must figure that "where there is smoke, there must be fire."
