I heard that the sheriff said he would not enforce it.
It’s a dangerous situation, given that it would be up to the DOJ to stop her.
Actually he said he had reservations but didn’t explicitly say he wouldn’t enforce it. There were reports earlier today that said he would enforce it. On Twitter/X he said: “ I have reservations regarding this order. While I understand and appreciate the urgency, the temporary ban challenges the foundation of our Constitution, which I swore an oath to uphold. I am wary of placing my deputies in positions that could lead to civil liability conflicts, as well as the potential risks posed by prohibiting law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right to self-defense.”
Those are GRAVE reservations.
Bernallio Co SD vs NM State Police....grab the popcorn.
We Must get away from that “Constitutional Rights” crap!đ
The vast majority of people who believe that the government has the right to regulate gun ownership by passing new laws ... have a poor understanding of our Constitution!
Most of the arguments about the Second Amendment ... made by both sides, revolve around a single assumption - that the Second Amendment grants a citizen the right to bear arms.
What both sides fail to understand is that the Second Amendment grants no such right, in fact, the Constitution grants no rights at all!
What the Constitution does do is identify what powers the people grant to the government.
This is the whole purpose of the Constitution - to tell the government what it can and cannot do, our Constitution is a limit on government.
That is why Marxists, Socialist, Progressive Democrats, et al. have such a disdain for our Constitution ...
It is a limitation on Government not a limitation on We The People.
As my signature line reads:
Our Right’s are God given and I don’t need permission from politicians to exercise them
Texas has preemption laws now, specifically to stop crap like this.
Gun controllers know the timing is a disaster.
They can’t afford to have the Supreme Court rule that “public health emergencies” do NOT cancel the Constitution, ahead of the next lockdown.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham Says âHer Duty to Uphold the Constitution is Not Absoluteâ
The ABQ police chief, the Bernalillo County sheriff and the local district attorney have said they wonât enforce it. Only the NM State Police under MLGâs direct control will be able to enforce it.
A peaceful protest with armed citizens openly carrying their guns was held in downtown ABQ this afternoon. Both local and NMSP stayed away.
That is a good start. Next, charge that karen governor with treason, convict her, and send her to prison.
Rank and file NMSP dislike being used as political pawns. Two of my nephews were on the force for awhile. (They grew up in Southern California and the culture shock of being in Rio Arriba county might have been a bit much.)
I donât think they will go out of their way to chase people down.
Another thing in the edict is that when transporting firearms to ranges etc⌠they have to be locked up. NM law considers your vehicle as âextended domainâ or the same as your house. MLG and her âsmartest people in the roomâ didnât research things very well.
this is a test to see how far democrats can push the “health emergency” angle.
