Here’s the problem with that scenario:

In 2016, Trump became the only presidential candidate in my lifetime to openly oppose his own party’s national platform on major issues. This is why so many of the GOP’s feckless frauds despise him.

I get it, Trump refused to go along with the corrupt RINO establishment that controls the party apparatus. This is why they sent him a message for his first two years with the majority and gummed up all some major progress. Yes, they despise him, not because of a stupid platform, but because he was a threat to them. And they will never come around, but they should. The establishment is a dying entity, the party is moving on from them slowly but surely.
