Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that former President Donald Trump’s indictments were making the United States a “banana republic.”
“This Week” anchor George Stephanopoulos said, “Your hand shot up pretty fast at the debate when you were asked whether you would vote for Donald Trump in the general election, even if he was a convicted felon. Can you just explain why you would vote for a convicted felon for president?”

The democrats love Bananas
This guy Vivek wants to be president?
He doesnt seem to mind mind showing his ignorance WRT US campaign laws
and demonstrates his eagerness to gain points by siding with Trump’s enemies.
His foolhardy remarks trashing Trump WRT his electors come straight out of the Ga indictment.
In her Aug. 14 indictment of Trump, Fani Willis alleged
<><>the existence of Republican electors for Trump constituted an unlawful “conspiracy” to overturn 2020 election results.
<><>Willis falsely claimed these alternate electors “unlawfully falsely held themselves out” as Georgia’s “duly elected and qualified” presidential electors.
<><>She further insisted these electors intentionally attempted to “mislead.”
However, among the documents Willis has in her possession obtained during her years-long investigation of Republicans was a meeting transcript refuting her allegations which she willfully withheld.
<><>A transcript of the Georgia Republican electors’ Dec. 14, 2020, meeting, obtained by The Federalist, explicitly shows the intent
<><>that casting alternate electors was not to impersonate public officers, as Willis alleged, but to lawfully preserve Trump’s legal challenge to the state’s election results.
These documents specifically noted how the electors were acting as “Republican nominees for Presidential Elector,” not as “duly elected and qualified” presidential electors.
Trump’s….making the us a …whatever
He loves this headline watch him
They are indicting Trump because the us is banana. Any other gop pres would have gone along with collections billions to make the us a banana republic
Romney, McCain - oh they did by losing/throwing
Any one of these so called contenders needs to prove he or she won’t continue it
Vivek being a stooge for Soros and running for President makes the US look like a BR.
Just last week, Donald Trump repeated that he ‘would consider’ having Vivek as Vice President, if he wins a second term.
I expect Trump will be walking that statement back shortly after Labor Day.
Vivek may be issuing these statements as a way to establish some appearance of independence from Trump, in spite of his numerous expressions of support and approval for decisions made during Trump’s first term. He probably has potential donors asking him; “Are you actually auditioning for a spot in the next Trump Administration, and not really running for president? Let me know.”
Mail in banana boater voter ballots aren’t helping either. I’m about ready to go get me a Carmen Miranda fruit hat to wear to the polls in 2024. Ay Carumba!! Oy Oy!
A bit behind the times as usual for VR - the election results of 2020 made the US a banana republic.
All of that because he is actually a “closet” democrat
DeSantis — and all the rest — should be out there loudly proclaiming the same, whatever their differences with Trump. Because they’re gonna be next.
The more he talks and contorts himself to please the worse he looks.
Trump does not have to walk that back. He only answered a question and he said “consider”. He did not say he chose him.
Good catch.
Yes I saw that.
It might be time to start vetting this guy.
No question.
High time.
Vivek the Viper 🐍.......because he is a snake.
Good points.
<><>Vivek may be issuing these statements as a semblance of independence from Trump,
<><>Vivek blithely supported and approved Trump’s first term.
<><>his potential donors must wonder if he’s just auditioning for Trump’s next Admin;
<><>maybe Vivek’s “running for president” has an ulterior motive.
Vivek is not a stooge for Soros.
What evidence do you have that he is?
