Wisconsin Supreme Court flips liberal, creating a ‘seismic shift’
The Washington Post ^ | August 27, 2023 | Patrick Marley

MADISON, Wis. — Standing in the marble-lined rotunda of the state capitol this month, the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s incoming justice raised her right hand, swore to carry out her job “faithfully and impartially” and launched a new, liberal era on a powerful court long dominated by conservatives.

Within days, the new majority stripped duties from the court’s conservative chief justice and fired its administrative director, a conservative former judge who once ran for the court. The abrupt changes prompted the chief justice to accuse her liberal colleagues of engaging in “nothing short of a coup.” Before long, Republican lawmakers threatened to impeach the court’s newest member.

Not anywhere near as bad as illannoy. Every elective state office, the house and senate held by filthy democrats. But for the God awful metro Chicago area, county wise illannoy is overwhelmingly conervative.

It’s Wisconsin. There’s a reason they’re called CHEESEHEADS.

A little off topic but why isn’t there a conservative alternative to the American Bar Association?

In the USSC or any state supreme court, politics should never be a consideration. Only the facts and the law should have any bearing on any case.

The problem will be the elections. The rats have an open field now. The slim R majorities in the legislator is probably doomed. The SC could have been saved but the Wisconsin R’s are impotent. They let the rats steal the Governor and then 20. They are well on the way to becoming Minn.

If Repubs have enough power to remove her that quick, how'd she even get there in the first place?

Thanks to the idiot that ran on the “conservative” side who didn’t want Trump anywhere near his campaign. He got creamed in a low turnout election.

It would be great if the legislature impeaches the new liberal judge.

The Wi legislature is filled with puppets controlled by uber GOPe Speaker Robin Vos. They are more interested in purging independent conservatives from caucus or county chairs.

To top it off, RPW chair is an ineffective minion of Ronna Romney.

Ergo they will roll over and allow WSSC to do whatever they want. Actually, with redistricting in leadoff, kind of looking forward to a number of these “legislators adapting to having to run in newly competitive districts going forward- To those Robin Vos puppets- Lotsa luck getting those conservatives you screwed over time and time again to do the GOTV work.

Well, that’s true only if the WI legislators are spineless, since the legislature and not the court determines how the elections are run, per the federal constitution. The locals need to help their reps in the state get a spine.

Patrick Marley probably had about 4 orgasms writing this article. Before the Post was leading Dem propagandist for Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Have met him at a rally pulling the do you know who I am when credentials were not available. He is the living caricature of pompous arrogant self absorbed “journalist”.
