Renowned geopolitical analyst Peter Zeihan recently made a startling prediction during an interview with commentator Joe Rogan.
Zeihan believes that China's collapse is imminent, with only 10 years remaining before potential disaster. The crux of his prediction lies in his assertion that China has misrepresented its population numbers, leading him to estimate that the country's actual population is lower by 100 million than what the government has officially reported.
"This is their last decade," Zeihan said of China. When Rogan clarified by asking, So, you're saying that China has 10 years to go?" His response was, "At most."
Some argue that China's massive military, control over its people and economic power are safeguards against its demise, but others point to concerning signs that hint at potential challenges ahead.
China's economy is showing signs of strain from various angles. Civil unrest erupted as a result of its strict zero-COVID policy, leading to lockdowns, reduced industrial output and restrained consumer spending.
Last year, economic growth experienced a significant decline, reaching one of its lowest levels in the past 50 years. The fourth quarter, in particular, was severely impacted by strict economic policies and political decisions that were deemed unwise.
With China's population aging rapidly, there are fewer working-age people to support retirees. The one-child policy, which lasted for more than three decades before ending in 2016, worsened the situation and threatens long-term economic prospects. While China has attempted to address this by allowing couples to have up to three children, the extent of its impact on the workforce remains uncertain.

Uh, noooooo.
Well said ! Cheers !
Xi did.
Now he’s moving back from Fascism toward classic Communism again.
“The Chinese have been around for a long time and suspect they will be around a while longer.”
If they remain firm in rejecting “diversity” and perversity they will be around thousands of years from now.
In 10 years, a youthful India will be in position to crush a rapidly aging China in a land war. Grandpa and grandma Han will not offer any resistance. We will see a concurrent drop in membership for the “China is Superman” cult.
What I wonder is what are the real costs of things like their extreme Covid lockdowns and the flooding caused by releasing water from the Three Gorges Dam into their farmland and cities. The CCP won’t talk about how many people have died from their actions. A few thousand? A few hundred million?
As a culture that has lasted many centuries—do not count on a population drop ending the power of China. Internal problems and governmental corruption may end them in the short term but, China is here to stay.
Do you know much about China? They do not see themselves as just Chinese. There is a caste/ethic strife internally.
Age demographics is going to kill them.
They would be better off with 1/3 the population.
Not mentioned so far is the fact that with modern viewing methods, a lot of parents are choosing abortions for their female fetuses. Another problem is that with so many more boys being born than girls, a lot of young men will have trouble finding a wife and continuing reproduction for the welfare of the state.
An elderly friend was born in Peoria, IL. His mother told him when a reservoir was drained some time in the Depression 1930s, 23 dead infants were found drowned in the reservoir. Given the current economic conditions, people could not have picked a worse time to eliminate the possibility of abortion. Instead we will have mal nourished, sickly children raised by parents who could not afford a child, and did not want that child. The price in crime and mental health breakdown will only get worse under these condiitons.
They can always put the unwanted kid up for adoption.
What are the relative adoption rates for white, black, and Latino babies/children now, before the increase in birth of children unwanted or unaffordable the new abortion situation will create? How many children in each category are in foster care now?
