Presumably they aren’t illegal immigrants, but have some form of visa to be here. But SpaceX’s excuse seems legit on its face. These are rockets, with technology used in weaponry which can be converted into ICBMs. You can’t just hire anyone and you probably do have to discriminate on the basis of national security, or at the very least keeping your business information proprietary.
