And that’s the case all over California, not just the border towns. I lived and worked in the Bay Area for a little over a year, 2016-2017. I lived in a nice little suburb town, but i had to wade through litter in the grocery store parking lot, the drug store parking lot, restaurant and store parking lots…it was disgusting.

My grandparents are from California’s Central Valley - their once beautiful, neat and orderly neighborhood has been taken over by Mexicans.
The curbs and sidewalks had been hacked out, the beautiful shade trees - sycamores - have all been cut down. No lawns left, cars on blocks in the dirt front yards. Driveways are gone. White picket fences all destroyed. The neighborhood was so trashed I couldn’t find my grandparent’s house.
I’m glad they aren’t here to see what has happened to their lovely area where they walked to church and the grocery store and “us” kids were allowed to run anywhere we wanted, it was completely safe.

Our HOA community was “owner residents only” for years until the Obama recession, at which point people couldn’t sell their houses in a timely way; so the by-laws were changed to permit renting out the houses. In rushed the Democrat county government and shoved multicultural Sec8s into the rentals dotted around.
Owners continue to pay ever-escalating dues as the infrastructure ages; the Sec8s get paid by the government to throw trash around, play loud music, conduct illegal businesses in their houses, have a stream of strangers in and out, loud parties on the decks, have the police show up over whatever their teenagers did at school today, etc etc. Our dues are now 600% of what they were 15 years ago.
Maybe they would still prefer a paper factory. I have rarely smelled a worse, more corrosively sour stink than the acrid smell of gigantic vats of wet wood pulp mash waiting to be hot-pressed into paper. Then there is the sound of the giant pressing rollers, the huge tanks catching the water squeezed out, the guillotiine cutters, the wrapping machines and strappers and cutters, the forklifts, the raising and slamming shut of the metal roll-down back gates of the trucks that will rumble out to print shops, or to newspapers around the clock, backfiring under the weight of tons of paper. Hold a ream of printer paper in your hand, which is one of the lighter-weight papers. Feel the weight. A pallet is 40 cases of 10 reams per case, and a truck holds multiple pallets...

Well as far as the mayoral election goes, 77% might answer, "what, the mayor is determined by an election?" (only 23% bother to vote)
In total, Biden received 5,230,985 votes (60.9 percent) in New York to Trump’s 3,244,798 (37.7 percent) to claim the state’s 29 electoral votes.

In Suffolk County (Long Island), the incumbents tallied 381,253 votes (49.4 percent) versus 381,021 (49.4 percent) for the challengers.
In Nassau (Long Island), Biden and Harris received 396,504 votes (54.1 percent). Trump and Pence garnered 326,716 votes (44.60 percent).
Results above are from the 2020 election. Suffolk was a dead heat assuming it was honest which I do not.
