At the center of the stage, and the center of the debate's hottest exchanges, was a 38-year-old man who no one expected to be there even a few months ago – a novice candidate and technology entrepreneur named Vivek Ramaswamy.
Though he’s well behind Trump, Ramaswamy has crept up in recent polls, leading to his position next to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at center stage. And he quickly showed why when he showcased his ready-for-video, on-message approach, talking about how his poor parents moved to the U.S. and he had the ability to found billion-dollar companies. Mp> Then Ramaswamy tried to show he wasn’t a regular politician and started to throw elbows. At one point he declared “I’m the only person on the stage who isn’t bought and paid for.” He slammed his rivals as “super PAC puppets” who were using “readymade, pre-prepared slogans” to attack him.
He seemed to be betting that primary voters preferred something memorable said to something done. His rivals were having none of it.

That was the only time I saw DeSantis get even mildly annoyed.

Given he's the small town values guy, I'd put him in charge of making every government agency the size of a small town football team, maybe 40 or so total people.

The betting markets, where people put up their own money, have DeSantis moving up after hte debate and Vifake moving down.
DeSantis picked up 21 new endorsements today.
A Fox panel unanimously said DeSantis won.
The New York Post said DeSantis won.
His onetime House colleague Jason Chaffetz said he won — on a network where you’re supposed to be tanking for Trump.
Even an NBC panel declared him the winner.
But hte guy who turned the country over to Fauci, wouldn't do anythign about the 2020 riots, and has 91 felony counts doesn't hvae any bagage, right?
I would agree the ridiculous format of that “debate” last night, is probably not the best for DeSantis, but I felt that in a more traditional debate format DeSantis could hold his own.
Why should h e? He was in the military (Navy.) He was sent; he went.
It’s been reported that Kushner recruited Vivek to split the non-Trump vote on the promise of a Cabinet post.
Reports I’m hearing today is that the Trump people are very upset with Vivek’s performance. They feel he didn’t lay a glove on DeSantis.
See a big part of why I supported Trump strongly in 2016 was he was talking about serious issues that nobody else wanted to talk about, specifically immigration and having an America first foreign policy. This stuff now just isn’t serious.
He even plagiarized 0bama in his opening.
While DeSAntis's went up.
