The Ukrainian=ns blew the dam.

You can continue to evade the obvious as much as you want.

You're gonna need a better excuse than 'we were afraid they'd blow the dam', especially since the history in that region clearly shows it's the retreating forces that blow the dam, to try and secure their flanks.

Yes, the "retreating force" 'forgot' to blow up the dam for SEVEN months.

Do you even read your own gas?

As I said before - you don't understand anything about the military, military strategy or military tactics, and you continue to prove it with every post.

In 1941 the retreating Soviets blew up the dam.

29 August 1941

The Russians have blown up the Dnieper dam at Zaporizhzhia, which feeds the Dneprostroi power plant, and have evacuated Dnepropetrovsk, the great industrial centre of Ukraine. Mr Lozovsky, the Soviet spokesman, told the press last night:

"We blew up the Dnieper dam so as not to allow this first child of the Soviet five-year Plan to fall into the hands of Hitler’s bandits. All measures were taken so as not to permit the Germans to make use of the dam and machinery."

In 1943, whilst on the retreat from advancing Soviet forces, the Wehrmacht destroyed the dam again, to make crossing more difficult.

Yes, the "retreating force" 'forgot' to blow up the dam for SEVEN months.

Who said they forgot? Oh, that's your strawman. Well, have fun with that. I'll just point out that the dam was blown up when it became clear to everyone that the Ukrainian counteroffensive was underway.

As I said before - you don't understand anything about the military, military strategy or military tactics, and you continue to prove it with every post.

Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-installed governor of occupied Kherson, said the breach would help Russian forces defend the area, saying, "In military terms, the situation has worked out in a way that is operationally and tactically in favour of Russian forces".Link

Gee, just like the retreating Soviets in 1941 and the retreating Germans in 1943, the Russians saw the military advantage in blowing up the dam to slow the enemy offensive. Can you explain how the Soviets in 1941, the Wehrmacht in 1943, and this Russian viceroy in 2023 have it backwards as to why and when you blow up a dam? I'll hang up and listen.
