Poll: DeSantis’s South Carolina Slide Continues as Trump, Scott Surge
Breitbart ^ | 13 Aug 2023 | NICK GILBERTSON

Former President Donald Trump is surging in the Republican primary field in South Carolina, while Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) finds himself in a five-way race for second place, according to a National Public Affairs poll.

The poll, unveiled Tuesday on the Yes Labels podcast, shows Trump leads the field with 45 percent of support, up four points from June.

DeSantis has fallen off five points in that time, registering at just 13 percent in the latest poll, according to former White House Political Director Bill Stepien and Justin Clark, who co-host the podcast and co-founded National Public Affairs.

2024 South Carolina Republican Primary

Trump 45% (+4 from June)
DeSantis 13% (-5)
Scott 11% (+1)
Haley 11% (-1)
Christie 7% (+2)
Ramaswamy 5% (+3)
Pence 2% (=)
Hutchinson 1% (-1)
Burgum 1% (=)@NatPubAffairs | 846 LV | 08/07-09https://t.co/o5i2RhcFob

— InteractivePolls (@IAPolls2022) August 13, 2023

Stepien noted Trump has gained support since June among “middle-aged voters” (+7), “non-college graduates” (+9), and “evangelical men” (+6).

“So we always hear about the… Trump base being ‘strong,’ well its’ gotten stronger because those three groups are certainly groups that you would consider to be part of the base,” Stepien said.

Former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) are on DeSantis’s trail with 11 percent apiece. Notably, Haley’s support, like DeSantis’s, has dropped precipitously in American Greatness’s South Carolina polling, while Scott has surged. In April, she registered at 19 percent, and in June, she landed at 12 percent. Conversely, Scott surged from seven percent in April to ten percent in June.

Former Gov. Christ Christie (R-NJ) and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy are within striking distance of second place, with seven and five percent of support, respectively.

Sir Spam-A-Lot is very busy today.

Who is your second choice for POTUS? If Trump is convicted of anticipated state charge(s) in Georgia, neither the GA Governor nor POTUS can pardon, even if they wanted to. Ominous. Best to have a backup plan.

Out of the current crop of pretender MAGA candidates, none.

If I have to, I will write-in President Trump.

All of the rest of the candidates are either connected to the Globalists, GOP-E, or NeverTrumper groups or, they are problematic because of their policy positions like Vivek.

The headline for this article (re: deSantis) is absurd. The real news here is that a former Governor (Haley) and a current Senator (Scott) are not even competitive in their home state. A footnote item is that 55% of South Carolina Republicans prefer someone other than Trump.

Hasn’t South Carolina figured out by now that Tim Scott is a McConnell RINO?

Tim Scott loves the Ukraine War, and endorsed Lisa Murkowski.

America is undergoing a totalitarian revolution. Both the democrat and republican parties out of Washington are cool with it. So what good does it do to vote republican? The choices are either vote for Trump or hope for a pro-American revolution. It would be better for Kamala Harris to become President than Tim Scott. Tim Scott would allow for America’s continued destruction but would give Americans a false sense of security that things are turning around when they are not.

Now Kamala could potentially trigger an honest to goodness revolution.

You lost me at a Kamala Harris Presidency. She dropped out of the 2020 primary before a vote was cast. Her standing has not improved. Why do you choose Tim Scott as the GOP winner?

The DeSantis voters are seeking another candidate. Most are conservative, so they’re not going to move to Hutchinson or Christie, or even Haley. Scott is thought of as conservative (or at least moreso than Hutchinson or Christie), though we know he’s not. He’s a tool.

Youngkin is the ace in the hole, he’s staying out of the fray for now, which is wise.

Tim Scott is just an example of a typical Washington republican. Kamala is my dream pic for the democrat ticket for 2024. She is a long shot but she is The VP and they have ascended to the role of President before. Biden is not exactly a picture of good health either.

I try to refrain from using derogatory terms, but DeSantis is a fool if he doesn’t hang it up. By not doing so, he is continuing to demonstrate lack of judgement. IMOHO

If Biden were to attend the swearing-in ceremony, there will be a mirror on the Bible.
