Hawaii’s alarm system didn’t warn people of the blaze. Why did it fail?

In the last five years, the Hawaiian emergency alarm system mistakenly went off two different times, causing panic among residents. This week, the system fell short yet again but in a profound way — there was never a warning to the community about the latest wildfires set ablaze on the island of Maui. zp> Most survivors had little warning of the gaining fire until they smelled smoke or saw flames, reported The Associated Press. Dustin Kaleiopu, a resident of the city of Lahaina that’s in ruins, left his home with his grandfather when smoke started coming through the window, reported CBS News.

I get it, We have this happen in the Az mountains too. Just not staying on top of stuff like they should.

I just had to be sarcastic and also attribute it to the overall narrative.

The system did not work because it was bought and operated by the government.

In Hawaii's case. it's dominated by dimocrats. The state legislature has 76 seats.

Senate: majority Democrat (23), minority Republican (2)

House: majority Democratic (45), minority Republican (6)

Mayor Frank Fasi, the mayor of Honolulu back in the 60-70’s,

That's a blast from the past. My Dad was stationed on Ford Island for a few years. Our elementary school got to tour the Governor's Mansion, that was pretty cool.

Hmmmm, which party has a virtual monopoly there?
And, ineptness is a close personal friend of stupidity.
And married to wokeness.

The air horn system was put into place for tsunamis. If those horns went off, people would have likely gone uphill towards the fire, creating even more pandemonium. These was likely 10 minutes maximum from the first fire in Lahaina, to when people were fleeing into the ocean.

Brush fires are common in the islands in the summer, mostly on the old sugar fields that are no longer being used, but always in more remote areas. This recent fire was likely debris or branches flying onto power lines, taking down the lines or simply setting off sparks.

Urban renewal to prepare for relocation of homeless from the border. This way, less people to object and less for them to steal and destroy.

From the article: “It’s uncertain how many lives would have been saved if more had been alerted.”

Where would you go? You’d have to head inland, but which way? How would you know which way to go?

The state of Hawaii has been "governed" by
Democrats for how long?
