Speaker McCarthy Sets a Trap for Biden Impeachmeny
Townhall ^ | August 8, 2023 | Matt Vespa

When Hunter’s laptop was exposed, Joe Biden’s Justice Department worked overtime stymying any investigation into the president’s son. That knowledge worked its way up to the attorney general’s office, which appears to have lied regarding the independence of these federal investigations into Hunter Biden. Merrick Garland should also be impeached, but House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is starting to set a trap for Joe Biden on impeachment. The red line McCarthy established was the White House’s refusal to turn over financial documents. Today, he demanded Biden’s bank records (via NY Post):

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has called on President Biden to “give us his bank statements” to prove he didn’t benefit from his family’s foreign business dealing as Republicans prepare to launch an impeachment inquiry as early as next month.

“I think there’s enough proof out there that this Biden family needs to come forward and show there wasn’t a pay to play,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) told Fox News’ Sean Hannity Monday night — after testimony last week from first son Hunter Biden’s former associate Devon Archer implicated Joe Biden in about two dozen phone calls and in-person meetings with his son’s foreign patrons.

McCarthy said that an impeachment inquiry, which he first raised in late July as a possibility, “empowers Congress, Republicans and Democrats of their committee, to be able to get the information if somebody fights from providing it to them.”

“The lack of any investigation into the laptop lands squarely in Bill Barr’s lap. He knew it was real, he did nothing.”

Sadly we may be saying the same thing about McCarthy by next year. I’m all for an impeachment INQUIRY at this point as it will accomplish what the DOJ and Jack Smith are attempting to do to Trump; beat him up, drain his resources and shift his focus and attention from the campaign.

We need to shove Joe Biden’s corruption and money laundering down his throat!

A friend quipped at me, “Money laundering, where is the proof of that?”

I said, what do you call it when your VP dad gets a prosecutor fired for investigating the firm paying that VP’s son $80,000+ per month, who in turn, he’s paying the VP dad $50,000 per month rent on a house valued at $1.2 million?

$50,000 a month is $600,000.00 per year. On a house worth $1.2M.... Who would do that?

A money launderer.

I take the text actually as I see it. If you have to make a case, you’re interpreting the text. I leave the finding of “penumbras & emanations” in the text to leftists like Justice William O. Douglas! I think it’s the wrong thing to do. You end up twisting the Constitution into what you want it to say, not what it says! Also, in examining the following link you will see that:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_convicted_of_treason

All treason cases were in either active wars or rebellions - even rebellions like the Whiskey Rebellion. The exception is possibly the Aaron Burr case. Not really much of a rebellion but certainly against US interests. In that case Justice Marshall set the treason bar even higher. Burr was acquitted.

Note Dore’s and Browns treasons were against their respective states NOT the USG. I don’t know if such a charge of state treason could be made today. I imagine most states don’t even have it their state constitutions today. If the states are sovereign such a thing, should still exist!

...beat him up, drain his resources...

Trump does not have access to institutions of the U.S. government to protect him. Trump is paying out of pocket for his defense. Biden on the other hand has the DOJ, FBI, Dem Courts, Dem Party, Dem State AGs, Dem corporations .... to defend him without him paying a cent.

Biden's resources are not and will not be drained so long as he has a corrupt U.S. government and corrupt billionaires protecting him.

I DO ADMIRE the latest approach:
Don’t make us prove you are guilty. YOU prove to us that you are innocent.
(This is the approach that the DeepStaters have been using on Trump and many of the conservatives.)

McCarthy doesn’t have the cajones to follow through with impeachment. The Republicans need to rid themselves of McConnell, McCarthy and McDaniels, all are a bunch of losing clowns with no backbone.

“Biden’s resources are not and will not be drained so long as he has a corrupt U.S. government and corrupt billionaires protecting him.”

Trump has spent about $40M out of pocket for his legal expenses. They will not drain Trump either.

Trump is our vessel to fix this garbage as few others have the means, the integrity, the knowledge and the WORK ETHIC to see this through.

I believe he will fix this.

What I do not get is the GOP have this tool and they refuse to use it. Start the inquiry, let Biden know that unless he calls off his bitch Smith, pardons Trump for documents and Jan 6, he will face a trial in the Senate during an election cycle. It is honestly a win win for Biden. No impeach, Hunter gets a little harder slap on the wrist and Biden looks magnanimous. He can claim he did it to stop the divisiveness Nationally these attacks on Trump and the Biden family have caused. Trump will still have NYC and Georgia to battle. Then it comes down to November 2024 and can the GOPe ballot harvest as well as the RATS?

Trump will never drop out and as a former President and leading political candidate appeals will be fast tracked. Most likely there will be delay after delay anyway until after Nov 2024. It seems daily, more people are becoming uncomfortable with the Soviet style show trials Smith is mounting. If I were a RAT, I would be worried about what will happen when they lose the White House and pussies like McConnell and McCarthy are not in charge. Once you start these show trials it will never end.

Doyou think anyone would believe ANY dopcument issued by Biden in his defence. Like PObamas fake Borth Certicicate issued by Obama, the documents would be pure fiction.

Its too late for that. Dig up the original bank records and trace the trasfers down to theor end points. Then get them on the on the stand testifying to a Grand Jury in Texas ot Florida.

Agree I think they want to find the Biden’s money no wiggle room for him if they do.
Also I don’t put it pass them doing some of the D.C. dealing trade this for that.
One thing for sure if Biden isn’t nailed it’s a free pass for anyone in D.C. to get into.
He’s far to dangerous to let go free because it gives his party unlimited for every election.
If Trump gets a chance to prove his point everything changes.
