Democrats are drastically overperforming in 2023's special elections. Is it a clue for Biden vs. Trump?

Looking ahead to 2024, Democrats concede some cause for concern -- including President Joe Biden's anemic approval rating and early polls forecasting a repeat race against former President Donald Trump in which Biden either ties or trails, due in part to a notable chunk of undecided voters and apprehension over Biden's age and acuity, which he has repeatedly dismissed.

This is from an interview in May:
Trump’s blunt communication style, however, becomes more vague when it comes to the issue of abortion. He’s not clear on what sort of restrictions he would support and wouldn’t say if he agreed or disagreed with DeSantis’s decision to sign a six-week abortion ban in Florida.

“He has to do what he has to do,” Trump said when asked about Florida’s new abortion restrictions. “If you look at what DeSantis did, a lot of people don't even know if he knew what he was doing. But he signed six weeks, and many people within the pro-life movement feel that that was too harsh.”

Trump wouldn’t say if he believed a six week ban went too far.

Democrats know they can cheat now and and get away with it. Any elecion that’s even mildly close will go to democrats.

I’m also guessing that the ‘press’ will soon decide that ‘polling is not a good idea’. Because it showcases voter fraud. So they’ll start downplaying it.

Well, there is some truth to this. People are fed up with “Republicans.” They still come out for Trump.

That’s what Baris’s polling has shown: they didn’t come out for the WI Supe special election, they didn’t come out for the GA senate run off.

They only come out when Trump is on the ballot because the GOP has no value to them whatsoever. And there are 10-13 million of them.

Meh, the only “pick.” No one except the equally bad Harmeet Dhillon was “running” against her.

The RNC is for all intents and purposes dead.

It is Trump. He brings out 10-13m who won’t come out for a midterm election, or any election where he isn’t on the ticket, because as “The Great Revolt” interviews and polls have shown, confirmed by Baris’s polling, they are not Rs, they are not Ds, they aren’t really Is. They don’t trust anyone but Trump.

Millennials and Gen-Z are not becoming more conservative in the traditional sense.

People become more conservative not as they grow older but as they have children and white Millennials/Gen-Z aren't having children. They believe, rightly or wrongly, that they can't afford them and there's no point in bringing kids into a world being destroyed by climate change. Minorities can have all the children they want because we're paying for them and as such they'll remain firmly in the Democrat camp. And minorities, to their credit, aren't buying the climate change nonsense.

Getting married, having kids, buying homes. These are the major life events that move people from Democrat to Republican, mostly for policies that are advantageous to these life events and young whites are doing none of these things.

If he doesn’t the Republic and elections are long gone anyway....you will be electing a “president” just as the Soviet Union did for 40 years...

They also have supporters willfully shelling over mountains of cash and doing the grunt work to get them elected, while the GOP / MAGA base sits on their hands and keeps their wallets closed as they did in 2018, 2020, 2022, and now again in 2023. Can’t win the war if you don’t show up for the battles. Showing up to parties, make shift parades, and rallies does not gain a single vote. It is more fun, but in the end is essentially just naval gazing among ourselves. You can’t let the other side vastly outspend and outwork us and then claim only fraud has an impact.
