Watchdog demands answers after hospital accused of expelling cancer patient for views on transgenderism

PORTLAND, Ore. (TND) — Watchdog group New Tolerance Campaign (NTC) is demanding answers after an Oregon hospital allegedly denied a cancer patient treatment for her views on transgenderism.

“We know cancel culture can cost people their jobs. Now, it can cost you your life,” NTC wrote.

A hospital in the Oregon Health and Science University system reportedly made the decision after the patient, whose name is Marlene, expressed criticism of a prominently displayed transgender flag in the hospital.

“Where is the Flag for women? For children?” screenshots of her comments posted on social media read. “I have been threatened on Twitter by transactivists with rape and death- so it is daunting to go for medical treatment with that banner.”

For sending the message to the hospital, the woman was allegedly told she was expelled from treatment. NTC is now urging the public to send messages to the hospital defending the patient.

Marlene’s opinions may not be acceptable to some members of your staff, but that does not exempt her from medical care. The Hippocratic Oath demands doctors 'practice two things in dealings with disease: either help or do not harm the patient.' OHSU is upholding neither,” a sample email to OHSU reads. NTC President Gregory T. Angelo told The National Desk in a statement the issue of "medical tyranny" is not an isolated problem, and that people across the country should be concerned about this incident.

"If people in need can be denied medical care because their views don’t align with leftist dogma, then we have entered a dark new era of cancel culture that — quite literally — has deadly consequences," Angelo told TND.

A spokesperson from OHSU declined comment to The National Desk Friday, citing patient confidentiality concerns, but did say that patients are entitled to care that is free of discrimination.

“An OHSU patient has a right to care that is delivered in a way that is free from abuse, discrimination or harassment based on age, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, culture, language, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, physical or mental disability, religion, socioeconomic status, marital status, military or reserve status, or any other status protected by law,” a spokesperson said.

While this policy is in place, it is also a patient’s responsibility to avoid language that can be interpreted as threatening, the hospital said.

“OHSU patients, families and visitors have a responsibility to refrain from using discriminatory, profane, derogatory or threatening language, imagery or behavior, and understand that these behaviors can result in limitation of visiting privileges and impact access to care at OHSU.”

primum non nocere… First, do no harm.

Well, that’s apparently frowned upon now.

Just a month ago, I drove my sister to the local hospital for a colonoscopy. Since the procedure is done with general anaestesia, one MUST have a driver to go home. So, as I waited for her to have the procedure, I wandered around the lobby and gift shop. Rainbow and TRANS flags EVERYWHERE. I felt like I was behind enemy lines.

That a medical facility would deny treatment of any kind to a patient for something the patient wrote is unforgivable BUT to deny cancer treatment is a special kind of evil

The tranny flag is "imagery that derogatory and threatening" to THE NORMALS. Does that count?

Doesn’t that tell you the left’s tacit admission they know transgenderism and all its variants is an illness and belongs in a hospital?

They were celebrating with those flags, not raising awareness of a mental health issue.

This is nothing less blatant attempted murder. If the government refuses to do it duty it should be replaced.

Do you have any idea how much money the medical industry makes off of the Alphabet and Trans cults? It’s second only to covid-19 and like it, they’re mostly taxpayer funded.

Thanks for posting. I hope something comes out of this. Medical care was denied to people that didn’t get vaxxed, so I guess their logical conclusion is they can do it for personal beliefs.

I think the Geneva convention directives for care of enemies in battle is even more compelling. Basically unless they are actively engaged in combat or armed, are is obligatory.

You are right about that.

I guess we all just have to “Stay Well”, and take care of our own medical issues like they did in pioneer days.

My own personal Physician left the practice with the usual “More time with family” excuse.

But, in a conversation with me he let it slip that he couldn’t stand “the way things are done these days” in medicine.

I knew exactly what he meant.

How would these degenerates feel if medical facilities began denying treatment to gays, simply on the basis of disagreeing with their perverse lifestyle?

Try having to work there. A few decades ago I worked for a large city health department, building a new computer data center. When I went to meetings with hospital management staff, I was shocked that a majority were gay lesbian women, practically all women in the meetings. They would talk how they couldn't wait to get home for some p*ssy. I worked there for two years behind enemy lines.

Yep- they gave her a death sentence for wanting a flag representing women and children but you better bake that gay cake or face financial ruin and death threats.
