Physical fitness is a cornerstone of military readiness. Historically, this quality has helped American servicemembers fight and win over numerically superior enemies.
Nevertheless, Congress has rarely taken much interest in a service’s military physical fitness testing — until now.
On Thursday night, the Senate approved its version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Section 557 of that bill would scrap the current Army Combat Fitness Test and replace it with the old Army Physical Fitness Test. Meanwhile, the House version of the NDAA proposes requiring a gender-neutral fitness test for combat arms positions.
In both cases, the issue is to ensure that fitness standards are not compromised for reasons unrelated to war-fighting.

Now that the Neocons are about to get American troops into a war against a SUPERPOWER, Congress finally decides that it might be a good idea if they were in at least a minimal condition to fight.

Sounds like they are expecting to virtue shame the adversary into fighting a gender neutral war.

My take:
1) No gender reassignment surgery either in the military or VA
2) Your chromosomes define your gender / sex.
3) Height and weight standards. Exceptions granted only if BMI is within acceptable range
3.5) range of motion test required for those seeking BMI exceptions. Touch toes, etc.
4) Old PT test is for support MOSs
5) Old PT test plus forced march for Combat support MOSs
6) Old PT test, forced march, plus lift / carry requirement for Combat MOSs
Additional test for specialized units
The Marine Corps code is that “every Marine is an Infantryman”, so we have always had a single Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
But that was back when only men fought - the women Marines a scaled-down version, recognizing the physical differences between men and women - and that the women would not be in direct combat.
Now that the wokesters are in power, all bets are off, I guess - but war hasn’t changed nor have men and women. Guess we ‘re just going to roll the dice during next fight.

1 mile, full gear, 10 minutes. No exceptions. Seemed to work okay for the 3rd Army.
Isn’t that the truth? I honestly cannot believe anybody in our military would a) profile that slob, b) publish a glowing, butt-kissing review of that filthy slob, or c) that such a disgusting human being could be in our military. But here we are.

Put those fat bodies in rigorous physical fitness testing and make sure everybody participates for at least 90 days before they’re discharged if they refuse to participate to put them in the stockade until they reach compliance, ensure they purchase a entire clothing allowance before discharging them take them to courts martial and discharge them for insubordination, have them surrender their uniform allowance before exiting the base, with a bus ticket to their home of record.
