Bolton: No Doubt in My Mind Trump ‘Knew He Lost the Election’

Former national security adviser John Bolton said Thursday during CNN’s special coverage of the indictment of Donald Trump that there was no doubt in his mind that the former president knew he lost the 2020 election.

Anchor Jake Tapper said, “One important question in the case going forward might be whether prosecutors will be able to prove that Donald Trump acted corruptly. In other words, whether or not he knew, deep down, the fact that he lost the election. You worked closely with him. Do you think Donald Trump knew that he lost the election?”

Trump fired Bolton on 9-10-2019, after 1.5 years as National Security Advisor. Trump did not agree with Bolton’s policy ideas and I greatly doubt that the incredibly self-centered Bolton really “knew” Trump at all, much less what Trump thought about events over a year after he’d last seen him.

Criminal intent or so-called mens rea is referred to about 30 times in the 8/1 indictment within a number of the pages but this is debatable and the only way to get into the defendants head is to have him testify under oath to prove his intent and innocence. It’s his option. If thrush is on his dude, I’d say, go for it I have every expectation that the former president will eventually take the stand in his own defense since it is this serious and he can expose all liars. A flip of 0.1% - one tenth of one percent - in those three states, and Trump wins the election!
