Tucker Carlson scored an impressive “get” with the posting to Twitter at 1 AM this morning of the first half of a two-part interview with Devon Archer (embedded below), following his closed-door testimony earlier this week. I wonder how he or his staff managed to persuade Archer to apparently travel to Maine, and what preliminaries preceded the video recording of the interview?
I was surprised at how relaxed and friendly, overall, the interview seemed. Archer was not completely incautious in his answers to fairly probing questions, but he did relax and smile a lot more than I expected. Both men were dressed in similar outfits, khaki trousers and blue blazers, Tucker with necktie and Devon with an open shirt collar. Archer came across as sociable, articulate, fairly intelligent and not sleazy or an ogre.
Devon Archer smiles, but the eyes are sad.
Most of the interview dealt with the nature of the insider’s game of influence in Washington, DC. I would not use the term “hard-hitting” to describe it, but it was not at all positive about the way our federal government functions in real life. It felt real. And the explanation of the real process of influecne peddling is highly instructive.
Apparently, a rapport between the two men was established before they went on camera, possibly involving family members, since their children were alluded to during the conversation. For all I know, fishing or alcohol or both were involved in building the relationship. The highlight was Tucker showing a personal letter from then-VP Joe Biden to Archer that was rather surprising, considering the relative youth of Archer at the time. Here is that excerpt, via Grabien:

Wasn’t this interview done months ago?
(Likely at the direction of Fox Management)
Yep, kinda sad.
I came away a bit impressed by Archer. Smarter than Hunter for sure and not as oily. He couldn’t even give the “safe answers” with a straight face, knowing he is already looking at the underside of the bus.
Archer is a dirtbag. He knew Hunter would be a multi-million dollar meal ticket.
Sure he did, he said so. I’m saying that rather than try to defend himself, he’s at least admitting it, and will pay a price. A dirtbag that is coming clean is better than a dirty dirtbag.
Mostly because the dirtiest dirtbags, Hunter/Joe, threw him under the bus.
Archer was s a Washington inside being a dirtbag is SOP, his good fortune initially was hooking up with an idiot whose father was the VPOTUS.
All he could see was $$$ and as he said got to close to the sun and got burned, if influence peddling is your game he hooked a whale
At least he didn’t deny everything and is going to jail and obviously is immediately expecting a pardon or other favors
He sort of seemed to me resigned to the fact he’s expendable
He knows he got away with murder, only a year sentence and serving 6 months...
If it wasn’t Archer, it would be someone else. The Deep State system enriches them and must be destroyed.
Tucker and Hunter Biden considered each other friends a decade ago, if on the opposite sides of most issues.
Obviously, things have changed and there is open hostility.
Tucker has been extremely forthcoming about the former friend ship and the split, but it’s no surprise people in that world can be cordial.
For all I know, fishing or alcohol or both were involved in building the relationship.
Maybe the common factor is both have seen the underside of the bus and eyes are wide open.
They need mutual support and maybe others will join them.
People do grow and change if corrected. At least those with core values. There are some without..............
Well said. I saw the entire interview and Archer was as truthful as possible, had a sense of humor.
Archer was so relaxed and cordial that I decided he had been given the green light by the cabal to go ahead with Operation Remove Old Joe.
“Apparently, a rapport between the two men was established before they went on camera...”
Tucker was a former neighbor of Hunter Biden, and previously asked Hunter for a recommendation to get Tucker’s kids into an exclusive school, so these two probably have met long before this interview.
“Archer is a dirtbag.”
Sure, he’s a dirtbag, but if you sit a dirtbag next to a bag of manure, it starts looking pretty good.
