Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau are separating after 18 years of marriage.
In a brief statement issued by the prime minister on Instagram, he said that after "many meaningful and difficult conversations" the pair have "made the decision to separate."
"As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build," said Trudeau in his post, which was also shared by Sophie's account.
For the well-being of their children, the Trudeaus are asking Canadians to respect the family's privacy at this time.

She probably hated how he sold out the truckers, maybe even subconsciously. Trudeau will never be forgiven for calling them nazis. He was already being screamed at in public even before the trucker fiasco. Most hated Canadian PM ever.

His mom, Margaret, was pretty hot back in the day. Hung out with the Rolling Stones when they were in Canada. On the ‘Love You Live’ album you can hear Jagger on stage call out ‘Hello Margaret, how you doing darlin’. From what I read, it wasn’t Jagger she had the hots for though.

When I saw this clown the other day, prancing around in his neon white jeans, colorful shirt, waving a homosexual loving flag and telling a toddler “Happy Pride”, I figured the papers would be signed soon. What a pathetic excuse for a man.
