Former President Donald Trump is continuing to boast the highest favorability rating among Republican primary candidates, gaining in this area as rival Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis slips, according to the latest Morning Consult weekly survey.

This week’s survey showed 78 percent of potential Republican primary voters viewing Trump favorably. That reflects a five-point jump in the last seven days. This survey was taken after Trump announced that he was the target of the January 6 investigation and must appear before the grand jury.

Those who view Trump unfavorably also dropped this week, moving from 25 percent last week to 20 percent this week.

While a majority, 62 percent still view DeSantis favorably, this reflects a two-point drop last week and four-point drop over the past two weeks, when 66 percent viewed him favorably. His unfavorable rating also ticked up, moving from 21 percent to 23 percent.

Anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy is maintaining his positive favorability rating, with 51 percent reporting a favorable view of the presidential hopeful. However, 22 percent still said they have never heard of him.

No other candidate saw over 50 percent favorability, but former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott all have a net positive approval.

Despite that, Pence has the second highest unfavorable rating, with 37 percent holding an unfavorable view. Forty-five percent view former new Jersey Gov. Chris Christie unfavorably compared to 26 percent who have a favorable view.

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum have negative approval ratings, although the latter two have most saying they have never heard of them. Former Rep.

So I guess we’re just going to let slide:

-Didn’t pardon J6
-Didn’t pardon Assange/Snowden
-Hired Chris Wray
-Posted a lot on social media though to “own the libs”

I know, I know, it’s always someone else’s fault. Trust the plan right? There’s also the slight issue on how I just don’t see him winning in 2024. I don’t see him winning AZ, WI, PA, maybe even not GA. Without those, we’re not winning. What’s the electoral map where he succeeds? I know the indictments are BS but nonetheless you have a lot of independents and “I hate both sides” voters who are tired of drama. I just have to be honest with you guys. I don’t see Trump winning, but I can see DeSantis winning.

DeSantis has been exposed as the sock puppet of the globalist establishment. A vote for DeSantis is a vote for the same traitors in the Bush Crime Family that have been surrendering for fun and profit for over 40 years now.

I see the non Trump candidates are now starting to go after Trump because they simply can’t get much support. That’s what you call, doubling down on stupid.

So let me get this straight: DeSantis built one of the most conservative and effective governments in Florida where he purged Soros prosecutors, all as part as some kind of undercover operation where he was deep state all along? Dude. Seriously. There are legitimate concerns with Trump’s electability. We all miss 2016 nostalgia, 2016 was great, but that moment has come and passed.

-Didn’t pardon J6

Why don't you quit with the lying?!?!

1. J6 happened less than 20 days before President Trump left office.
2. Most of those arrested were arrested after Jan. 20th 2020 when President Trump left office.
3. 14 days (Jan. 20th - Jan. 6th) was not enough time to review, analyze, etc. the cases of those who were arrested, and many of those arrested were from the Left (Antifa, BLM, etc.) there to cause mischief to harm President Trump.

I guess any old lie will do in your effort to try and besmirch President Trump, right???

I’m not going to pretend Trump is perfect, but some of the complaints about him posted here on FR come across as pathetic whining when you consider the guy is leading the GOP field by 40+ points.

J6 weren’t named or charged by the time Biden was in office...impossible to pardon people not even charged.

Who says Assange/Snowden should have been pardoned?

Chris Wray had to be confirmed by Senate. Trump could only choose people Mitch would confirm. Hind sight is 20-20. Wray looked like he had the experience and firing Comey necessitated a rapid process.
Mr. Wray was nominated by President George W. Bush in 2003 to be the assistant attorney general for DOJ’s Criminal Division, supervising major national and international criminal investigations and prosecutions. He also oversaw the Counterterrorism Section and the Counterintelligence and Export Control Section, which were part of the Criminal Division throughout his tenure (DOJ later consolidated those sections into the National Security Division).

Mr. Wray was a member of the President’s Corporate Fraud Task Force, supervised the Enron Task Force, and served as a leader in DOJ’s post-9/11 efforts to combat terrorism, espionage, and cybercrime with domestic and foreign government partners. At the conclusion of his tenure, Mr. Wray was awarded the Edmund J. Randolph Award, DOJ’s highest award for leadership and public service.

Social Media Posts a feature not a flaw. YMMV

DeSantis is lame, owned by GOPE (Ryan Romney et al) talks big, has never been under attack. Last election DeSantis outspent a weak opponent by 7x, opponent had switched from R to D. No big surprise DeSantis won. He is already fumbling the ball and he has taken no significant heat.

Who really believes polls these days...those numbers, any poll numbers can be just a bunch of manufactured junk. Maybe the left wants people to believe that Trump is up by a mile, heck they want us to believe that giving money to the government will solve global warming.

So let me get this straight: DeSantis built one of the most conservative and effective governments in Florida where he purged Soros prosecutors, all as part as some kind of undercover operation where he was deep state all along?

Meanwhile the guy who banned guns, printed $4 trillion on Covid handouts, gave leadership of the country over to Dr. Fauci, filled his entire administration with Bush's JV team, hired Wray, Barr, and a whole slew of other Deep State stooges, wouldn't fire any of them, remains the "Only Man Who Can Drain The Swamp."

People can say what they want about DeSantis. At least I don't have to twist myself into a pretzel while abandoning every conservative principle I've ever held in order to support him.

“This week’s survey showed 78 percent of potential Republican primary voters viewing Trump favorably. That reflects a five-point jump in the last seven days.”

You could pump a billion dollars into campaign ads and not get the polling bump President Trump has gotten as a result of these efforts by dims, the media, the corrupt biden law agencies, and ksm1 the poster here.

Keep up the good work.

DeSantis is Ted Cruz this time. I think Ted was more popular with much better poll numbers though.

That’s a problem, not a feature. The fact that a bunch on the right don’t want to see Trump debate is concerning. Why would you not want to see a potentially elected leader debate? It’s stupid. I know some of you guys don’t care if he beats Biden or not, but I do.

It is a technique called rope-a-dope. What DeSantis has done in Florida will never be replicated at the federal level per his establishment masters’ will.
