They can toy around with the optics and narrative of “holding him” but they’ll have to make a very good case for doing so, and if they don’t but go ahead and do anything that transparent, they will be left with having to deal with millions of DJT supporters and newly christened supporters expressing themselves in no uncertain terms More than anything they want their actions to produce isolated spasms of rebellion which they can then use to invoke the Jan. 6 “insurrection” all over again. Absurd as the Jan 6 claim was, that won’t prevent them from trying to build
on it.
