Trump: McConnell freeze-up ‘a sad thing to see’
The Hill ^ | 07/31/2023 | SARAH FORTINSKY

Posted on 07/31/2023 6:44:54 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Former President Trump said it was “a sad thing to see” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) freeze up at the podium during a press conference and called for new leadership atop the Senate GOP.

“We have to have that,” Trump said when asked whether he wants to see new leadership after McConnell’s freeze-up last week. Trump offered the comments in an interview on Breitbart News that aired Sunday.

Trump said it was “sad” to see McConnell freeze up, while continuing to criticize the way McConnell had led the Senate GOP.

“Well, I thought it was sad. At the same time. I think it’s a shame that he went so far out to give Green New Deal money to Biden and the Democrats,” he said, adding, “But that was too bad. That was actually a sad thing to see. He had a bad fall, I guess and probably after effect of that, but it was also sad that he gave trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars to the Democrats to waste on the green New Deal.”

There are so many people in our government who couldn’t hold a clerk job at the BMV.

Just another reason I am so disappointed in the American public. All of these McConnell, Fetterman, Biden types, and yet, no one seriously pushes age limits and testing for those criminals.

The ‘woman in green’ swoops in on the left side, touches Glitch’s arm, and then Glitch freezes. Then observe closely at the smirk/smile of the pol on the right side.

This was staged, the exact purpose for which I do not know...

Same for Biden. Quite obvious that Biden is not the President. He is a placeholder for Hillary and Obama and the pervs, the communist, and the climate change cultists.

McConnell, Fetterman, Feinstein…all mentally incompetent
That’s 3 Senators out of 100
Are there more?

Chuck Grassley is doing OK. It’s not necessarily the age, but their condition. We need a fair mechanism to get these incapacitated folk to retire. Should start with family and trusted advisors. Always the potential for a good one to be politically railroaded out, however.

“That’s 3 Senators out of 100”

That’s not enough? Those are the high profile, obvious cases. I’m sure there are more, and that doesn’t include the House, with the likes of Pelosi.

Well these guys aren’t going to vote term limits onto themselves, and voters are afraid to oust their established (and perceived to be powerful) representatives for fear of missing out on the federal gravy train, so the founders missed the boat on setting them in the constitution

“We need a fair mechanism to get these incapacitated folk to retire. “

To me a solution isn’t that difficult. Mandatory congition testing at a given age. I’m no doctor, but I’d think 60 would be reasonable. And, a mandatory retirement age. If their job is as important as it SHOULD be, then mandatory retirement to allow more capable people to fill their role is reasonable. I’d suggest age 75.

Nonsense. There should not be an age limit for elected representatives. Look at Donald Trump. He’s 77. He still seems mentally fit to be president. I’m 70 and, as far as I can tell, I haven’t lost any mental acuity.

We’re talking about elected representatives. If you think your representative is not fit for office, you don’t vote for him or her.

He had a seizure of some sort......For those few seconds of staring he was simply “gone” and he’ll have no recollection of that time. I could tell you exactly what he was thinking as he came out of it. He definately was aware something happened immediately but was groggy an lightheaded.

Up until my mid-twenties I had Grand Mall seizures, maybe twice a year when I skipped medication on occassion but mostly controlled. You have an awful sense of of a gap in time an no recollection at all of what was going on during that gap....an you know those around you know what happened.

Many use their staff to lighten their load...however there’s no guarantee they’re giving them the right information.

“We’re talking about elected representatives. If you think your representative is not fit for office, you don’t vote for him or her.”

The people are stupid, very, very stupid. They elected Biden and Fetterman.

We need age limits, term limits, and mandatory testing.

Yes, it is a sad thing to see that “deer in the headlights” look come over another’s face. The fortunate ting is that McConnell did not collapse at the podium, but we all saw it.

Having mental pauses does not augur well for continued public addresses. John Fetterman on a very small scale. This will only continue to get worse and worse.

McConnell seemed to be having a Petite Mal seizure, otherwise known as an “absence seizure”.
