Biden remains their most viable candidate. They have nobody else. Heels Up Harris is deeply unpopular yet as a woman of color is almost impossible for them to just nudge aside without risking the alienation of their most loyal supporters.

That would be especially true if they gave her the heave-ho in favor of Straight White Male Gavin Newsome.....who looks like American Psycho, and appears as oily as the worst of used car salesmen. He would be easy to paint as a far left California radical because that’s exactly what he is. That’s not going to sell in a lot of Midwestern swing states.

So corrupt as he is, dementia riddled as he is, the Democrats are stuck with Biden. Its getting to be way too late in the day for them to draft another candidate anyway.

I’ve heard Gretchen Whitmer is being floated in Dem circles, in order to gain Midwestern appeal. The coasts will still vote for her, and she might get the Midwest votes, too. Easier than Newsom would.

I believe they don’t care who they run. They know how to manipulate the vote and also are fully aware that the press and more importantly the courts are not going to do anything about it.

If the Democrat Socialists had any wit about them at all, they would just pull back from their stonewalling of RFK Jr. So they take a rap in the knuckles by allowing the candidacy of Bobby Junior to proceed, and the old Kennedy magic goes to work.

RFK Jr. makes a sweep of the primaries and arrives at the Democrat National Convention with a majority that even the superdelegates have to pay attention to, and is nominated on the first ballot. Trump would have a worthy opponent then, something that has never been the case in his quest for the Presidency. The 2016 field of Republican primary candidates was almost too easy, and Herself melted like an ice cream cone in August in the general. The 2020 election was a fluke, relying almost entirely on a combination of low-information voters and widespread fraud to put into office a mumbling hack that had made a career out of using elective position to leverage some really impressive amounts of cash and net worth out of each successive term in office. And he has always covered his tracks before, with a friendly media that will not report his chicanery and sleaze, while presenting a picture of “Joe just being Joe”, as if he were a blue-collar citizen who humbly worked his way up.

Joe Biden is about as “blue-collar” as a member of the Mafia. And he has made an even bigger payday out of his machinations on a world level.

Which is why I think that Brandon gets nudged aside sooner rather than later. The Democrats need to have a primary. A backroom deal that puts someone else at the top of the ticket will cause problems. A Harris loss in the primary might cause some bitterness but not an open revolt by large constituent groups.

Wise thinking, FLT-bird.

Hanson deliveres a splendid analysis detailing the Biden / Harris dilemma.  But you have added other analysis showing Gavin Newsome is not necessarily the savior the Leftist cabal seeks.

In the 1840s, Emerson made some observations that ring true on own current national problem.
