Rudy Giuliani admits to making ‘false’ statements about Georgia election workers
New York Post ^ | July 26, 2023 | Nicholas McEntyre

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani has admitted that he made “false” statements about two Georgia election officials he accused of rigging the 2020 election.

In an overnight court filing signed by Guiliani, Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer conceded that he does not contest the allegations made in a defamation suit brought by Peach State elections workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shay” Moss.

“The Defendant Giuliani, for the purposes of this litigation only, does not contest that … such actionable factual statements are false,” the filing, shared by Politico reporter Kyle Cheney, reads.

However, Guiliani, 79, insisted that his statements “did not carry meaning that is defamatory, per se” and that they are “constitutionally protected statements or opinions.”

The two election workers filed a defamation suit against Giuliani, once “America’s mayor,” and conservative news network One America News Network (OAN) in December 2021, accusing them of spreading false claims they had committed election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

A heavily edited clip of security footage was widely circulated online and by Trump allies at the time as supposed proof of fraud.

Guiliani accused the mother-daughter duo of passing USB drives “like vials of heroin or cocaine” while they were counting ballots.

Moss later revealed to the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot that her mother handed her a ginger mint.

Georgia’s State Election Board dismissed its yearslong investigation into alleged election fraud in June and officially cleared Freeman and Moss.

The fraud claims were “unsubstantiated and found to have no merit,” the investigation concluded, NBC reported.

It’s too easy to prove anyway, because a recount can validate or invalidate any claim.

Not if the alleged ballots were destroyed.

Well, that doesn't help Trump. His own lawyer admits lying. Okay, lawyer jokes in 3, 2, 1.

We were lied to … lots of folks went to prison…

They try to insinuate that he lied or made false statements. It’s fake. It’s kee saying, this fat druggy was passing the USB around like a cheeseburger with Crack on it...and they say, No, there was not any cocaine on thr cheeseburger cheeseburgers and Rudy concedes. Ok, that wasn’t an actual fact. This is trash but this is what we’ve come to expect from these people.

1) Most of what is said by a defendant in a civil trial is designed to get to settlement. The text of this supposed blockbuster announcement cries out this very specific purpose.

2) There are so many of these splashed stories that it is almost guaranteed the reason is to conceal reality. Fraud took place to steal the election. It did not happen because of Dominion. Software had NOTHING to do with it. It did not happen from widespread purposeful incorrect counting at counting centers. That had NOTHING to do with it.

The steal took place by widespread authorization particular methodology of how ballots were obtained. Vote By Mail in and of itself did not cause all this. It was the sub rules of how it was implemented. Ballots could be sent out to non existent people at addresses. Activists could arrange this and intercept them and fill them out and submit them. Notice how little you hear about this? The media is filled with Dominion and yelling about video of counting centers. That’s not how it was done. It was done via the loose VBM rules.

3) VBM is never going away. The rules defining it is what have to tighten. Early voting must be embraced by conservatives. Early voting gets votes from otherwise lazy people and rest assured, there are lazy conservatives just like there are lazy liberals. Those lazy conservative votes have to happen or we can never win.

He was basically saying whoever was in the film was passing USBs. Not provable beyond question what was on the film. That is the main problem.

The more information that comes out about the “alternate” Michigan electors, the more it makes me sick to my stomach. These people were duped into doing this, put themselves in legal Jeopardy to support Trump, and that toad Jason Miller in his sworn testimony before Congress admitted that everybody in the Trump campaign thought the whole idea was a massive joke.

How many bags of D***s do you eat in the course of a day?

Your BS posts each day, of opposition to Trump, demonstrate your mental and spiritual decline.

You need help and a 3 day weekend, for a 5150 , would probably be a good place to start your new life

Practically no one in Trump's campaign in 2020 believed there was massive fraud that swung the election.

And when they were put under oath they admitted as much:

Bill Stepien (Trump's 2020 campaign manager) and Jason Miller (Trump's 2024 senior adviser) testified that they know Trump lost in 2020:

This is just masturbatory material for people who have an anti-Trump agenda. They flock to it and rally around it, a honeypot as it were.

Rudy stated they were not meant as DEFAMATORY to specific people, but basically just glib statements as to what he assumed was going on with some anonymous workers.

That's confusing, and sounds like sloppy operating from the President's Personal Attorney. Not sure I'm buying.

Giuliani has given his reputation and endured a savage beating on behalf of President Trump. He was recently sued for a variety of sexual offences by a woman he was dating who he had to cut it off with after two months when he realized she might be a prostitute.

Quite possibly, he's admitting to this just to step back from the fray.

I don’t think his lawyer is saying he “lied” knowingly in order to deceive—that he believed it when he said but it apparently turned out not to be true.

Giuliani admitted to making false statements. Yes, I rightfully equate false statement to lying. That’s not lying to do so. Deal with it. Giuliani screwed up. And not helpful to Trump, but Trump has picked badly for all of his 2020 attorneys like he did for most of his hiring choices.

Giuliani was bad news from day one. And I repeatedly said that at the time when he became involved with Trump, who I strongly supported at the time. For those that criticized me for questioning the Giuliani pick, a big I TOLD YOU SO.

Go lie to someone else stupid enough to believe you.

You support Biden, so you support child molestation, money laundering, criminal enterprises, and treason.

Agree. Unfortunately, Sydney Powell and others did not understand that the main problem was not software in 2020 (although it could be in the future). Their lawsuits failed, and as a result, the media reacts to any any investigation into fraudulent ballots by repeating the "Trump lawsuits unsuccessful" mantra. Texas has allowed early voting since 1987, but almost all of it in person.

But look closely at any proposed reforms to VBM. They could tighten the rules in one place while loosening in another.

I believe Obama would have won in 2008/2012 without cheating (unfortunately), but 2020 was very different. It wasn't the kind of cheating some people believe.

What is fake about this? Giuliani admitted in the filing to making false statements. That’s lying to most honest people. Or, are you saying that Giuliani did not make this admission, that the whole report is fake news?
