Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani has admitted that he made “false” statements about two Georgia election officials he accused of rigging the 2020 election.
In an overnight court filing signed by Guiliani, Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer conceded that he does not contest the allegations made in a defamation suit brought by Peach State elections workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shay” Moss.
“The Defendant Giuliani, for the purposes of this litigation only, does not contest that … such actionable factual statements are false,” the filing, shared by Politico reporter Kyle Cheney, reads.
However, Guiliani, 79, insisted that his statements “did not carry meaning that is defamatory, per se” and that they are “constitutionally protected statements or opinions.”
The two election workers filed a defamation suit against Giuliani, once “America’s mayor,” and conservative news network One America News Network (OAN) in December 2021, accusing them of spreading false claims they had committed election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
A heavily edited clip of security footage was widely circulated online and by Trump allies at the time as supposed proof of fraud.
Guiliani accused the mother-daughter duo of passing USB drives “like vials of heroin or cocaine” while they were counting ballots.
Moss later revealed to the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot that her mother handed her a ginger mint.
Georgia’s State Election Board dismissed its yearslong investigation into alleged election fraud in June and officially cleared Freeman and Moss.
The fraud claims were “unsubstantiated and found to have no merit,” the investigation concluded, NBC reported.

I really wish we had looked past this nonsense and focused on the real problem - ballot harvesting.
I saw the video like everyone else - those two don’t look like they have the aptitude to execute any part of a conspiracy. It’s too easy to prove anyway, because a recount can validate or invalidate any claim.
Imagine though, this “noise” was really instigated somewhere to get people to focus on the wrong thing. And the nuttier the better, because it will just discredit an accuser in the end. Servers in Germany, machines “flipping” votes, etc. And while people chase their tails, those who ran a ballot harvesting scheme just walk right past.

When they talk about the “heavily edited security footage”…..not sure if it was edited at all, but they have to say what they have to say…of Ruby running the same ballots through the machine over and over?

THis is Rudy skillfully maneuviring the discovery process. Wai8t until he p;ays the video of Ruby in discovery of Ruby doing the dirty......she will have to explain what she was doing......and that will be very interesting.

I love Guiliani, but this shows guilt. Trump may not have known and just bought whatever Rudy had to say.

Actually it is the other way around.
Rudy stated they were not meant as DEFAMATORY to specific people, but basically just glib statements as to what he assumed was going on with some anonymous workers.

NO he said thaey were opinions that may be factually 9naccurate, and secoondly he said that expression of that opinion ( after watching the video) is protected 1st amendment speech. Wait untill Freeman has to explain what was happening in the video......that will be rich.
Rudy admitted nothing , and it is a masterful ploy in a civil suit.
We used to laugh about a group of Democrat women who vehemently denied that Clinton had ever had an affair with Monica Lewinsky....even after Clinton admitted to it!
It was often cited as a symbol of how delusional and cult-like the Clinton supporters were.
And----well, here we are today.

This is the one guy you can accuse of posting some anti-Trump stuff.
Meanwhile several EverTrumpers (1 in particular) constantly carpet-bomb the site with articles galore to promote the glory of Trump and demean DeSantis. All you have to do is plug in the names into the search and find the 10 articles posted per day per member. Must be nice to have so much time.

He only admitted that he could not prove they were passing usb drives...the ginger mints are a load of baloney. These two were up to no good.
