Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani has admitted that he made “false” statements about two Georgia election officials he accused of rigging the 2020 election.
In an overnight court filing signed by Guiliani, Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer conceded that he does not contest the allegations made in a defamation suit brought by Peach State elections workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shay” Moss.
“The Defendant Giuliani, for the purposes of this litigation only, does not contest that … such actionable factual statements are false,” the filing, shared by Politico reporter Kyle Cheney, reads.
However, Guiliani, 79, insisted that his statements “did not carry meaning that is defamatory, per se” and that they are “constitutionally protected statements or opinions.”
The two election workers filed a defamation suit against Giuliani, once “America’s mayor,” and conservative news network One America News Network (OAN) in December 2021, accusing them of spreading false claims they had committed election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
A heavily edited clip of security footage was widely circulated online and by Trump allies at the time as supposed proof of fraud.
Guiliani accused the mother-daughter duo of passing USB drives “like vials of heroin or cocaine” while they were counting ballots.
Moss later revealed to the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot that her mother handed her a ginger mint.
Georgia’s State Election Board dismissed its yearslong investigation into alleged election fraud in June and officially cleared Freeman and Moss.
The fraud claims were “unsubstantiated and found to have no merit,” the investigation concluded, NBC reported.

You are a corrupt election official. You are told that there will be a "recount." If you still control everything, you just report that everything is fine.
If the "recount" is going to be done by a third party which you don't control, you simply create as many ballots as you need to make it look legitimate, and you can do this after the fact.
I think the "recount" was at least days later, if not weeks later. Since the same people doing the "recount" were the same people counting, I would not put any faith into it's legitimacy.
When they hired an outside party to do a recount on Maricopa county Arizona, they found 75,000 fake ballots and 200,000 fake voters.
The margin of victory was like 14,000 or so.
First off, his statements were made before the court trials.
He was never able to prove they were true because the courts refused to hear the evidence and found for the defendants on the face of the case AFTER he made the statements.
He’s now being charged by Democrats for ipso facto actions and these cases should be summarily tossed out but they’re not…
Again - he didn’t LIE.
Right and this has nothing to do with the video showing them pulling out ballots from under the table after they send observers home.
No - he didn’t.
Btw, while you’re here trolling would you kindly contribute to the Free Republic to keep it, and your job, going? K-thx!

No - he didn’t lie. That you don’t understand that is your failing. Truth hurts.

It is unfortunate that certain posters do not take the time to analyze this story and its context. It is part and parcel of how incompetent many have become in reading news stories. Why would an isolated story about a portion of a legal proceeding with a headline that does not match the detail be somehow proof positive of Guilianni being apparently a malicious congenital liar? So much more information is needed to draw such a conclusion and it simply does not exist. Certainly not in the superficial hustle-a-minute media. I get that some people oppose Rudy and those he chooses to associate with. Go for it. Free country (still, sort of). But you are not honestly saying this proves he willfully lied? The story clearly contradicts any such conclusion. Instead, at its core, this is a report of a defendant in a lawsuit deciding which allegations he will fight and which he will not fight. So, if I believe something to be true, like Covid vaccines are actually just like old-fashioned vaccines, and I assert same, but later it is determined that covid vaccines are actually more like flu shots which are not vaccines at all, then was I lying when I stated my belief? Of course not. That is all Guilianni is doing here, stating he won’t contest the purported new infomation that, if true, renders his prior statement false. In no way does it convert his prior statement to a lie. Also, the new information is simply another investigative process that concluded without charges against the women. There was no finding of truth there, nor of motive associated with the allegations that I am aware of. If you want to be credible, you should make credible arguments based on a reasoned appraisal of the facts, processes, and context. This is not an episode of NCIS that is resolved in an hour based on a contrivance called a script. This is real life and there are real people involved here regardless of what names people may wish to call them to try to implicate them by mere accusation. most reasonable people are not fooled by such tactics. I suggest writing something worthy of actual adult debate and interaction. Your style seems merely to express a dimissive attitude towards those who do not share your pre-determined political opinion. I sense you are not open to facts that may call such beliefs into question.
“We have investigated ourselves cheating and found no evidence that proves we were cheating, “ - DNC Election Cheaters.
There are multiple videos of election workers ADMITTING they were throwing out Trump votes.
It sure does to me.
According to Rudy, now, no. His case won’t be based on fact of what these two and others may of done, but whether disparaging them is covered by the first amendment. I think the goal is to stop the further discovery of info harmful to other Trump protectors and Trump himself. Oddly, while Rudy is attempting to claim first amendment, Trump has suggested such protections should be clipped.
We all know who did lie: Liberals.
Every liberal out there claimed the Russian Collusion Hoax was real, but it has since been proven to have been a treasonous and seditious attempt by Hillary and many other democrats to frame Trump with false allegations.
So do you believe that Giuliani didn’t make false statements, knowingly or otherwise? Do you think that he didn’t screw up, that he hasn’t done harm to Trump? Do you think that Trump hasn’t made a lot of poor choices in his hires? That’s what the original post is saying.
The original post is a troll thread. Nothing more. It makes assertions and conclusions that are not correct.
Then what was said that was not correct?
Just how dense are you to repeatedly ask?
The far left and far right are interchangeable when it comes to their shifting behaviors and beliefs depending on if their team is in power or not.
Why won’t you answer my question? It’s simple enough.
It isn’t my responsibility to help you to understand what has been said. Since you have the reading comprehension of a retarded child, perhaps you should seek special schooling to improve you reading comprehension.
Consider the sources...
“Why won’t you answer my question? It’s simple enough.”
A better question is why do you need to keep asking? What’s your ulterior motive here? Why don’t you understand what has been said already?
Why so fixated? This story doesn’t change the fact that DeSantis is not doing well..
