(Jul. 19, 2023) — Amending the Pledge of Allegiance is not an unprecedented or trivial event. It has occurred several times previously when an improvement was created by those devoted to making it better and more powerful. What will be proposed within this article clearly adds great benefit to the Pledge because the United States Constitution is at least as worthy as, and maybe even more than, the flag for all Americans to pledge their loyalty and adherence to.
The history of the current Pledge of Allegiance can be found in this link: https://www.thoughtco.com/pledge-of-allegiance-brief-history-3320198.
As is detailed within that reference, the Pledge was not written until 1892. It was amended in 1923, officially adopted in 1942, and amended again in 1954 to include the words “under God.” After that there were several lawsuits filed to delete those words and all were dismissed.
The amended Pledge of Allegiance being proposed herein is to add four words and change one pronoun from “it” to “they” as follows: “I pledge allegiance to the flag and to the Constitution of the United States of America and to the republic for which they stand, one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.”
The reasons for this proposed addition include but are not limited to the following: ... continue reading at: https://www.thepostemail.com/2023/07/19/we-need-an-amended-pledge-of-allegiance-again/

“...imparted to us by Providence.”
Rights can only exist in a privilege that can’t be taken away. There are none in any of the governing documents used to lead the country.
The only thing that can’t be removed is conception. Everything after that is man’s free will to include death unless determined by God. A perfect example is abortion.

I grew up in a conflicted era on the cusp of changes we see today.
Part of me envies your era; I regret that ours could not resolve to prevent this and save what my grandfather’s generation sacrificed so much for without question...
...as I would also do to preserve that which remains (the Constitution).
Allegiance = fealty
fe·al·ty
nounHISTORICAL
a feudal tenant's or vassal's sworn loyalty to a lord.
"they owed fealty to the Earl rather than the King"
formal acknowledgment of loyalty to a lord.
"a property for which she did fealty"
The pledge is an Oath that makes us subjects, not citizens, and is contrary to the very concept of a Republic.
The Founders wouldn't have been caught dead saying it.
No need for any change.
...and to the Republic for which it stands
That covers the Constitution which formed the Republic.
As a Southerner, I have never said “indivisible”.
The Oath of Office for military officers is a good one.
Saying the pledge every day is an insult to people's intelligence, and resembles the NAZIS.
“I do not support the “pledge” as written or with this amendment because it seems to contradict the plain duty of citizens set forth in the Declaration of Independence”
Agreed.
Commies all recite their pledges. That ain’t the way.
Congress pledges, takes an OATH to uphold the Constitution. Where has that gotten us?
Just words mouthed in perversion.
The pledge is a new construct, used by commies to gain obedience to government. People already had loyalty to their birthright country, no pledge needed.
A little info. The pledge was written by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist preacher who was a socialist and preached against capitalism. He hated America and joined the wave of Marxists who thought government was the answer to economics issues.
I don’t understand... Most churches, and even the Pope embrace the homos... So why is God still a roadblock for these morons!!??
Me either. I hated that part of it. I also hated the mindless daily repetition. It seemed very NAZI to me.
“..help educate our children when they learn it.”
These are the same public schools that want to turn our children into eunuchs and the parents have no say in the matter?
Same here, logi...the PoA always creeper me out as a kid.
Creeper = creeped
Dang spell check!
Good idea!
