On the day President Trump announced he received a target letter from Biden prosecutor Jack Smith pertaining to the events of January 6th 2021, his Republican primary competitor Ron DeSantis was heard to echo the establishment line on the incident.
“For example, I think it was shown how he was in the White House and didn’t do anything while things were going on,” DeSantis said directly echoing the Democrat-led January 6th Committee line. He added that Trump “should have come out more forcefully,” before going on to accept that “to try to criminalize that [is] a different issue entirely,” and that having a situation where “one side [is] just constantly trying to put the other side in jail” is wrong.
Contrary to DeSantis’s claims, Trump issued a video statement on Twitter during the disorder, urging protesters: “[Y]ou have to go home now. We have to have peace. We have to have law and order. We have to respect our great people in law and order.”
Twitter took down the video and permanently suspended Trump’s account. The video was not restored even after Elon Musk reinstated the account, though it can still be viewed in the Miller Center presidential archive.

I wonder about the timeline when Trump was supposed to be in the White House during Pelosi’s staged insurrection.
PDJT and Melania left the WH at 11:30 am. It seems it was later than that when the FBI, Epps, et al., were directing patriots into the trap that has5 been set.
But the weasel words were placed there deliberately. Don’t think for a moment that DeSantis hasn’t discussed this particular topic with his consultants dozens, if not hundreds, of times.
Saying that Trump was wrongfully indicted is the easy part. He has no choice but to say that. To say otherwise would truly end his campaign. There’d be no point in going on after that. So he gives the obligatory “Of course he shouldn’t have been indicted” comment and always makes sure to include a criticism when doing so, in that passive aggressive way of his.
And let’s not forget the tacit implication in his “He should have come out more forcefully” comment. He’s basically agreeing with the Dem/MSM narrative on Jan. 6th - that it was a dangerous attempt to overthrow the government by a mob of Trump supporters, rather than a pre-planned, staged event designed to malign Trump, his supporters, and any efforts to prevent a fraudulent president from being installed. Remember the video of Pelosi and her co-conspirators calmly exiting the Capitol chambers? The only danger on that day was to the poor dupes who were in the wrong place at the wrong time, some of whom are now well into their 2nd year of imprisonment.

When that comes about by then the people would care less. It’s going to be about survival. This nation will be in such terrible shambles that the government won’t even matter anymore. It’ll come down to survival …a roof over your head food on your table, paying the bills, etc. etc. This is the way Third World populations survive…day by day. I know because I see how the people from Mexico survive. The Mexican government is one of the most corrupt and people there learn to survive daily with very little while their government is constantly breathing down their throats and then, after a while they become desensitized to what is going around them. This is what I fear for the future of America, which is just around the corner. The powerful machines are working overtime to reelect the veggie or any other Democrat. This nation is on life-support. Trump is facing up to four different trials in the coming year..two federal and two state. The odds are at least one of them will “take” and he will be a convicted felon.
He has trashed all of the remaining Republican candidates. His ‘scorched earth’ behavior, plays into the hands of the Democrats’ and Biden will most likely be re-elected.
