The Supreme Court and Republicans are on the top of the list for college students and recent graduates to blame for the lack of student debt relief after the high court’s recent ruling striking down President Biden’s forgiveness plan, according to a new poll from Generation Lab.

The survey released Tuesday showed 47 percent of college students and recent graduates across the country blame the Supreme Court for unforgiven student loan debt, while Republicans came in second place at 38, 10 percent blamed the president and only 4 percent blamed Democrats.

Maybe if they hadn’t gone to Miami and Medico for Spring Break every year or attended concerts at expensive venues you wouldn’t have borrowed so much of my tax money.

Not one of my kids graduated college with a single penny of debt. Who do they blame?

Correct; and the universities and colleges that suck more money out of people than their Marxist indoctrination is worth take a free slide as well. We should be out screaming from the rooftops that it obviously isn’t worth it. I know that’s what I’m telling young people who want my opinion. It’s a huge ripoff.

Fixed it.

1. they were adults when they took on the debt
2. schools too expensive? demand they lower prices
3. schools raised the prices as more govt money poured in

IF I were still hiring & firing-—I would NEVER hire a ‘student’; who thought their loan should be ‘forgiven’.

NEVER

Two things to consider:

How many “students” will be given the funds to pay their loans?
VERSUS

HOW MANY SUCKERS WILL BE PAYING THE LOANS FOR THOSE “STUDENTS” ?

That will decide how we feel about it.

Perhaps "equity" should be extended to "equity in responsibility to repay debt as promised."

Funny all these college educated folks that want their student loan debt forgiven don’t realize they took out a loan to get dumber by going to college.

Republicans are either idiots or they are controlled.

Like many other of the current hot button issues these days, the student loan forgiveness is fundamentally an us vs them fight

A relatively small number of affluent defaulting student loan recipients want to get their loans erased to the detriment of a very large segment of hard working middle class and working poor voters who will have to pay for the defaulters college education - plus the college educations of their own children.

Republicans should be on a populist rant appealing to the productive , hard working voters who are going to have to foot the bill for this garbage to secure their votes to more than offset the votes that Biden buys with his shameless student loan forgiveness vote buying scheme.

It's a natural populist political winner but the Republicans refuse to engage because they reject populism and let Biden win by default

We're to blame for the lack of debt forgiveness because we're not to blame for the debt.

These self-absorbed “babies” will be the death of freedom. When they live in the “new communist” America, maybe then they will realize just how stupid they were.

And make your bed, first thing I do in the morning.
I do have lots of thoughts on student loan debt,
Most responsible are the students agreeing to pay these ridiculous amounts , the most egregious are “on-line “ schools, but the rest are nearly as bad
In 1980 I laid 299 for full time which as I recall was for something like 16 credits and above.

Tuition rate increases have been fueled by a cabal between the vanguard of liberalism and “anti-capitalist “ “higher “ education institutions and govt loan guarantees

These institutions know that most of their degrees are worthless(anything that ends in studies makes you qualified for a barista job) which the institutions know will never provide income to pay the loans back.

Doesn’t help that this generation thinks that having the newest phone, personal gratification of all forms…. Is a right and paying back debt you agreed to is optional

Very simple, you borrowed the money, pay it back! My wife and I did. Times were tough financially when we first graduated. Student loan payment, car payment, rent, insurance, groceries. There wasn’t much money left at the end of the month. But we made it work and without that Degree in Computer Science we would not have realized what ever meager success we achieved. You took the money, no one forced you to, pay it back! Hopefully the degree you earned is in a marketable discipline. Off my soap box now. Regards.
