The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Millions of Americans in the West and South will stay trapped under a dome of heat, while a system of storms is set to dunk the East with severe showers and flash flooding through the end of July.
In a heatwave smothering the western third of the country through the end of the month, some spots are already reaching record high temperatures.
A separate pattern will keep showering rain along the East Coast..

Too much CO2 causes Global Opposite Sides of the Coining?
Waited all winter for this. Global warming is AWESOME!
Really there are multiple other causes including gender, pay and income inequality, the inherent racism of all whites, and the nonsensical rumors about dishonest elections. Don’t forget the pernicious effects of fat shaming. These are all available for use, but sometimes only one or two are needed at a time.
NW WA is supposedly enduring record heat. Northern CA too. I remember visiting family in Lake Shasta/Redding area in the 60’s. It was 115F. Being from Washington State, I wondered why the kids didn’t go out to play during the day. Stepped outside, and IT WAS HOT....1964 it was.
Heat dome madness!

I'm 71. All my life, I've been "trapped under a dome of heat" in summer.
Indiana. Kentucky. Florida. Alabama. California. Oklahoma. Tennessee. North Carolina. Those are states I've lived in. And, every one of those states has that "dome of heat."
Good to now know what it's called, cause we always called it "summer."
Isn't the word "showering" superfluous when it's in front of "rain?"
Here in Cedar Falls, Iowa it has been a pleasant summer. Some days in the upper 80’s. Frequent rain in July, quite dry in June. No mosquitoes so far, very unusual. I remember very hot, humid weather in July in the past 5 decades. I will take summer 2023 anytime.
Is this Heaven? No it’s Iowa.
Here in Western Pa the summer is normal. July and August generally have these heat waves.
:^)
I baled some hay for a week long ago in E.TN
It was over 100 every day and long sleeve cotton shirts required. The barn was probably 125.
I was about 13. I made 26 dollars. Bought a train set.
