Not even close. Dick was a small town Republican small “c” conservative who despised the Goldwater and Reaganites but hated the left more. He was able to tap into an anti-leftist silent majority that otherwise hated GOP economic policies to have the greatest electoral landslide in history.
The unanswered question: Why did Deep State feel the need to get rid of him?
