Retaliation for cluster bombs?

This is how escalation works..... what a mess this is and no matter how many times I see people say “oh, he won’t use nukes” you cannot help but be nervous.

My kids have no stake in the Ukraine and I am still trying to figure out how or why this is so vital to them that people are willing to have another cold war and threats of nuclear weapons usage.

Retaliation? You mean that the Ukrainians will now have more of the same kind of weapons the Russians have been using since the beginning of the war including on civilians in cities, that kind of retaliation?

Me thinks the Russians protest too much
And pot calling the kettle black
Or my favorite don’t start something you can’t finish

The poor Russians are upset that the upstart pesky Ukrainians are fighting back

The Russians have been using thermobaric, cluster, large aircraft dropped bombs as well as cruise missiles, and massive artillery barrages against ukraine since the start of the war and when Ukraine “retaliates” they complain that this is somehow unfair?
When two small drones hit the Kremlin the Russians call it a “terrorist act” yet they send hundreds against Ukrainian cities and that is what?

Bad Ukrainians bad bad bad/s

That’s exactly what it is. Thanks DementiaJoe, the world is edging closer to WW3. Let’s go Brandon.

Retaliation for cluster bombs?

That was my first guess when reading the article. They appear to be nothing new, other than more deadly than conventional weaponry.

I believe the escalations will continue, hopefully not to the nuke level. I don’t want to see this war drag on, and our involvement is political insanity, as it’s none of our business.

But if it drags on until the next election, and if by some miracle Trump is back in office, our participation in this war will end in short order. Now that will PO many of FR’s war-hawks, Uke chear leaders and propagandists.

Retaliation for cluster bombs?

There is noting to retaliate for. Soviet-era cluster munition have been used by both sides since 2014.

There is nothing new, except a different supplier with newer versions that have a 1% dud rate and deteriorate over a specific time period.

Plus, the areas US cluster munitions will be uses is to be recorded for later clean up - will not be used near any villages or towns, according to the agreement Ukraine signed.

Soviet-era cluster munitions have a 30% dud rate and are used almost exclusively on civilian targets by Russia.
