Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
It’s foggy this morning. The temp outside was almost 60 fs. Not too bad but warmer than it has been. Fox Weather thinks it will be about as warm today as yesterday, then the cooling trend begins.
F-I-L is now claiming he blacked out for a moment before his accident. Is that a reason to stop driving? Of course not. He’ll just be more careful. But he said he’d take a test so we filled out the form to alert the DMV of his problems. If his doctor does his part, maybe we can get this guy off the road before he really hurts someone.
And then there’s today’s Wordle. I didn’t get as high a score as I have been lately, but it’s not too bad.

Good morning.
Good Morning!
As usual, the forecast is somewhat off... no rain was predicated for last evening at all... and it rained pretty good for about 1/2 hour out of nowhere... was supposed to rain overnight into this morning, none around... now supposed to start in the afternoon... we’ll see...
Looking to make up a stroke on the 15th Hole I figured that a strong drive would get me in position to get on the green in two, and it worked out... I was able to compensate enough against the very brisk crosswinds...
Getting well under it with my 5-iron I was able to drop it onto the green for a fairly easy Birdie putt...

(In the golf analog, this Birdie on the 15th hole puts me at two under (56) for the round... ⛳️)
Well “Hurrah!” for a parting of the clouds and a moment of vulnerable honesty out of your F-I-L, ArGee. Happy for you that there’s a step forward on that front. I do feel badly for the elder gent, grappling as he is with the cessation of his freewheeling days, and the prospect of being more burdensome to his near kin.
I must admit to having a fit of “butterflies” stepping up to this, the 14th tee. Clinging to a 2-under par performance, this short par 3 could easily have suckered me into a Bogey. The density of unforgiving foliage — criss-crossed with the forlorn rabbit trails of many a fretting ball-seeker — that lies along, and even in, the narrow fairway are intimidating.
Off the tee, then, I unlimbered my trusty 5-iron for a go at a drive of 200yd plus, and was not disappointed to come up just at the apron of the green, and comfortably to the right of the first of the two bunkers flanking it on the left.
I chipped on with a firm hand hope springing eternal that I might even get a Birdie, but — alas — the shot stopped a few feet short, and I accepted the short putt to hole in.
So I make par here on 14, to hold onto a 2 under performance thus far in the round.
