Two civil rights organizations are launching a campaign to pressure state governments to disqualify former President Trump from appearing on ballots in 2024...The groups say secretaries of state are empowered by the 14th amendment to bar Trump from running for office because of the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection.

“Are you comfortable witj seberal (sic)...”

Fat fingers. So sue me.

“I said NOTHING of their current situation. In fact, I said they were NOT insurrectionists, which would imply I do not think they belong in prison.”

Imply? So I am supposed to be Omar the mind reader now, trying to figure out what your thought was? Do you have your “wife mode” on?

Next time, come out and say it. Don’t “imply”, unless it is really obvious what you are implying.

I said the J6 folks were idiots, not insurrectionists. Full stop.

Then YOU brought up their subsequent incarceration. Stop trying to bait me into saying something you disagree with. All I said was those people were too stupid to be insurrectionists so that means Trump should stay on the ballot.

Oh good God. They’re using Trump’s tenuous connection to the lamest riots ever as reason?

I’ll say it again: be better than these communists. They milk the few lame transgressions we have for all it is worth.

Bill, you’re making no sense at all right now.

And BTW, the “insurrection” and their subsequent lawless incarceration are all part and parcel of the same thing. They are related.

But you knew that. Straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel.

Clear about what?

Trump is going to be convicted of insurrection in at least New York Federal court. A literal reading of XIV will disqualify him from office.

The Jan 6th event was a mostly peaceful protest which was infiltrated by agitators, some antifa and some government 3-letter types. The theatrics are simply devoid of facts, but long on hysterics.

Two civil rights organizations

The exact antithesis.

That would get appealed to the SCOTUS if necessary but no such charge is going to stick. Its preposterous.

Its almost impossible to keep someone off the ballot and they can’t stop someone from running even if he runs from a jail cell as Eugene V Debs did 1920.

Funny how the rat party has such trouble distinguishing between a normal protest on J6 vs an actual insurrection like during the summer of 2020 by those in their party.

It has literally nothing to do with it. Even our kangaroo courts won’t go with this, I would think.

Yes, we need to really be holding him up in prayer... if he goes down... America as we have known it is over.

Quotes on an Amendment XIV, Section 3 use by a judge:

A judge in New Mexico declared Tuesday that the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was an “insurrection” as he ruled that Otero County Commissioner and “Cowboys for Trump” founder Couy Griffin must be removed from office for participating in the attack.

Griffin is barred for life from holding any federal or state office — including his current role as county commissioner, from which he will be ousted “effective immediately,” Judge Francis Mathew ruled.

Griffin became “constitutionally disqualified” from those positions as of Jan. 6, 2021, the judge concluded.

Telling your supporters to protest a stolen election by “marching peacefully and patriotically in front of the Capitol Building so your voices may be heard” is a bad thing in liberal world.

Scum.

Griffin was convicted in March on a misdemeanor charge of breaching restricted Capitol grounds.

Note, not convicted of "insurrection."

That judge would fit right in in the Sondergerichte.

Judges in Nazi Germany were then instructed that in the event of any conflict between the Nazi Party and Law, the Nazi Party should always succeed as their objectives surmounted any notions of fair play.

Absolutely. These people are all about threats to democracy and now demonstrating how it’s done. Let voters choose or reject Trump at the ballot box in free and fair elections. Anything else is a real insurrection.
