The Biden administration will soon open a new immigration program to allow some Central Americans and Colombians to enter the U.S. legally and discourage would-be migrants from these countries from journeying north to cross the U.S. southern border illegally, officials announced Friday.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) initiative, which will formally start on July 10, will allow eligible migrants from Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to fly to the U.S. and gain government work permits if they have relatives who are U.S. citizens or legal residents and have filed visa applications on their behalf.
A Homeland Security spokesperson said the State Departments plans to start sending out invitations for the program later in July.
If selected and approved, the relatives would be permitted to enter the country under humanitarian parole authority, which also allows them to work in the U.S. legally. Those migrants would be able to gain permanent residency, or a green card, once their visa is available.

Is current law allowing the executive carte blanche in making this new gateway, which to me seems to not have been written in the law as it is now.

So the first part of that will work but the second part will fail miserably and 100% of illegals will gain access tothe US.

There’s no basis in law for this.
They are just making it up by stringing together wholly unrelated elements of immigration law: catenating refugee status with lawful permanent alien status, something that normally takes years to approved if you submit an application at a consulate.
It’s the Imperial Presidency with his gangster state henchmen simply obliterating any semblance of legal immigration.
Yes, as with Biden’s current methods, they have found another way to give “refugee status” to anyone they chose, and the Catholic Bishops lobby is certainly clamoring for that to be done for all Latin Americans - joining with the Dims for buying future voters.
I see the turd rollers on the far left forcing the dumbass Americans to take in a bunch of these freeloading dickheads and “sponsoring” them by providing them with food, shelter, beer, gas money, clothes and Tater Swuft concert tickets.
