Manufacturing jobs are the back bone of middle class American jobs. Manufacturing creates more national wealth than other wealth creators combined.
China went from abject poverty 5 decades ago to the biggest economy in the world today (based on purchasing power) by focusing on manufacturing. In case you do not understand purchasing power, if $100 buys 5 certain items in USA but buys 10 same items for $100 in China, then the real size of economy should not be based on dollars, but rather on purchasing power.
