In September 2022, Disney removed six top editors from the magazine."
I’m just here for the pictures of the naked native tribal women...
I've been a subscriber since the 60s and National Geographic no longer provides maps or covers the subjects their charter called for. Instead, they are now a liberal, WOKE wanna be, rag.
Disney feeling to cost of woke
I think NatGeo may have made some better decisions for itself the last four years if it had not become part of Disney in 2019.
I think many units (conpanies) of conglomerates are not in fact “saved” by the conglomerate but merely used to bolster the “size” of the conglomerate as if growth in size alone is an improvement. I remember many smaller companies absorbed by Microsoft but went there only to die in a few years.
I once had many years worth of complete sets of Nat Geo, in their binders. Then I was looking at selling them and in the process found you can get whole the years worth of printed Nat Geo magazine, digitized onto CDs/DVDs. I realized that undercut selling my old bound printed versions and tossed them out in the paper recycling collection.
That darn climate change!
I can see their challenge, Culture, History, and Geography have been cancelled. They don’t even teach much of it in schools anymore. So no one cares...
NatGeo today is nothing but advertisements.....
I didn’t realize they were a for-profit operation, though I probably should have.
When my dad subscribed, they were controlled by the Grosvenor family, descendants of Alexander Graham Bell, and they could still pretend to be an educational and scientific foundation.
The latest example of “Get woke, go broke.” Sad.
That used to be a fine magazine. They were early adopters of woke and green movements. It got to where half the magazines are nothing but sociology.and quack science. Shameful what they did to it.
I canceled when they had the ape boy evolution cover page...right about then everything was climate....everything woke goes to sht
A great magazine once upon a time.
Then they went liberal, all the great articles and pictures on distant lands turned into leftist crap about people.
Went from National Geographic to National Sociographic.
If i had wanted that crap, plenty of liberal rags to choose from no doubt.
Print media, in all its forms, is either dead or dying. There simply isn’t any profit to be made.
